I was unsure of exactly what I was ordering. Now that I have received the rotors, let me clarify the item description. Title says “Advanced Technology Disc”. These discs may incorporate advanced technology, but they are NOT from the Raybestos “Advanced Technology” line of discs. The part number listed (980160PER) is for Raybestos R-300 series discs. What I received were R-300 series discs for a GX470. That’s what I needed!
So, again, These are R-300 discs with the ~~~~~w~a~v~y ~~~~grooves.
Packing: The discs are HEAVY! Discs are individually boxed by Raybestos. Both boxed discs were shipped in a single large cardboard box. The large box was not the correct type for such heavy objects. Thin, flimsy, single layer, cardboard and poorly taped. When delivered, the box top flaps were wide open and one of the box sides was ripped out. Thankfully both discs were still in the box – just barely. Thanks to the good quality of the individual Raybestos boxes, the discs were undamaged.

These were a perfect fit for my GX470 front disk replacement. The old front disks were warped and caused very noticeable pulsing when braking. Apparently, GX470’s have undersized disks for the heft of the vehicle. I only replaced the front disks and pads, and still need to replace the rear disks and pads, as I am still feeling a little pulsing when stopping. I am hoping the quality and longevity of Raybestos disks and pads live up to their reputation.
I will post an update months from now to report what I am experiencing. So far, I have had front disks and brake pads for about 3 weeks.
