I AM NOT ONE TO COMPLAIN BUT THIS TIME I’LL MAKE AN EXCEPTION. I PURCHASED WHAT I THOUGHT WAS A 110 AMP ALTERNATOR BECAUSE THATS WHAT ASMAZON HAS POSTED IN THE AD. I RECEIVED THE ITEM AND OPENED THE BOX TO INSTALL IT AND WAS READING ALL THE INTSTRUCTIONS AND OTHER STUFF. THE ALETRNATOR CAME WITH A PAPER THAT SHOWS WHT AMPERAGE THE ALTERNATOR TESTS AT AT DIFFERENT RPM RANGES. WELL FIRST OFF THE DESCRITION ON THE PAPER SAYS 12 VOLT 63 AMP ALTERNATOR WHICH IS WRONG THEN IT SAYS IT TESTS AT 71 AMPS @ 4000 RPMS. NO WHERE NEAR 110 AMPS RIGHT? THEN THE SELLER, THE RARE ELECTRICAL PLACE AND THEY BASICALLY TOLD ME TO GO F OFF BECAUSE IT WAS SOLD BY AMAZON SO THEY HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. THATS WRONG!!! THEN I CALL AMAZON AND THEY PUT ME ON THE PHONE WITH SOMEONE WHO I THINK WAS SPEAKING SOMETHING THEY THOUGHT WAS ENGLISH BUT I COULDNT UNDERSTAND A WORD. NOW I HAVE TO WAIT FOR A REFUND AND MAYBE ORDER ANOTHER ONE FROM PROBALY SOMEWHERE ELSE BUT NEVER REALLY GOT AN ANSWER TO WHY THEY’RE FALSELY ADVERTISING AND SELLING THEE TO PEOPLE. THERE IS MORE THAN MY REVIEW THATS SAYS THIS. AMAZON I WANT THE ITEM I WAS SUPPOSED TO GET!!! I BUY SOOOOOO MUCH STUFF FROM THIS PLACE AND THIS IS HOW I GET TREATED? This Alternator specifically says GM” engines but it looked so much like my current 3 wire Ford alternator I figured it was worth a shot. The two brackets are perfectly aligned with my current alternator but the holes were just one drill bit smaller. In 5 minutes, I had the holes exactly the size of my Ford alternator and had it on my engine using all the same hardware that I had with my ford alternator. I was up and running in 20 minutes. The quality is excellent. Beautiful chrome finish which looks great on my dressed up SBF.

I got a 110 amp Chrome Alternator for less than a stock 90 amp alternator, and it works and looks great on my ’55 Chevy 383 “Stroker” !!!!!! Would I buy it again ? YES, buy I don’t think I’ll need one !

Alternator works fine. However the chrome started peeling off after a few days after installing.
This was purchased for my wife’s custom pickup truck. Very unhappy that the chrome is peeling off.

Only reason I’m giving this lower stars cuz it had no instructions. I had to call the seller and Google and the seller didn’t know that it sometimes needs a case ground or they just didn’t tell me. They said one wire is all it needs. I guess if you get lucky and get a good ground bolting it on, this could be true. But I have to run a ground from the case to a good ground that went to the battery. Well that’s what I did. Not sure if a chassis ground would work cuz I didn’t do that. It say in the ad, one or three wire connections. To bad it dont come with instructions that tell you all this stuff. I had to research the three wire set up to find out it wasn’t right for my setup. Cuz its going in a “hotrod” mustang. All after market stuff. I wasn’t following a Haynes manual and the ad does say great for hotrod applications. Just needs instructions. Would have save me alot of research time. To figure out why it wouldn’t charge with just the one wire.
Update two days later,, After further investigation this alternator don’t charge it did read voltage at 13 a couple times, but even at 3000 rpms this alternator won’t hold any more voltage than is on the battery. I am certain now that this alternator never worked properly. It’s on a brand new rebuilt engine.
Update I took this alt to oriely auto and the checked it. It does not charge unless it’s on a three wire set up. This is not a one wire alternator!
You have to have a three wire set up to use this. The white wire goes to the alternator light on dash the red little wire goes to battery and so does the bigger battery wire. Again not one wire. But 3

So I bought this back in November of 2019 and haven’t been disappointed yet. Especially for the price my local auto parts stores want almost 2 times as much for chrome 100 amp alternators I know different brands but this one really is good deal and works great not a problem yet

been using it for a few months now and it still charges great. With every accessory on in my 71 cutlass it still doesn’t drop below 13 volts. Can’t beat the price.
Update: still charging SIX YEARS LATER!! The only problem I am having is the bearings are staring to make noise so I decided to take it apart to replace them. This is a really well built alternator. The rotor is balanced and the chrome has been holding up really really well and I don’t baby my car, rain snow or shine I’m driving it. The picture is after cleaning it up with just windex after 6 years of use!
The people having problems with it most likely have other issues with their electrical system. Good grounds and wiring to the battery is a must. Batteries absorb voltage spikes and if you don’t have that cushion of a good battery and wiring, you’ll easily fry the voltage regulator. Don’t hesitate to buy!
