I just completed ~800 miles through the driftless area of Wisconsin using the x-grip, small tough-claw , and double socket arm all from Ram Mount on a Harley Heritage. All three items worked very well and i would recommend each item or purchased set . Specifically, for the X-Grip, it worked very well to hold my iPhone 6s with a few important pieces of information:
Phone Buttons: As others have stated, the mount will push the power button and/or volume buttons on the iPhone 6s. I use a phone case (https://www.amazon.com/LV-Defender-Kickstand-Protector-Microfiber/dp/B00M97HT8I/ref=sr_1_52?ie=UTF8&qid=1470679678&sr=8-52&keywords=iphone+6s+case+with+kickstand) that kept the holder from making contact with the buttons. Without a similar case, the phone has to be held off-center to work without contacting the buttons. This would work fine as along as you don’t need/want to use the rubber tether. More on that below.
Rubber tether: the mount came with the rubber tether ([…]) that Ram recommends for open cockpit applications (motorcycles). Except for a few times i forgot, i used the tether all the time and consider the use of the tether virtually required to make sure the phone didn’t go anywhere. I had zero concerns of the phone falling out while using the tether…but as others have mentioned, i could see how a phone possibly could fall out without using the tether. For example, If the mount was holding the phone virtually straight up and down and in portrait mode (so the mount arms aren’t on the bottom of the phone) , I could see how with the right bump or series of bumps that a phone could fall out. I believe this would be less of an issue if the mount held the phone at an angle, cradling the phone more, or if holding the phone in landscape mode, or a combination of both. For this trip I only used the phone mount in portrait mode and used the tether. Using the tether kept the phone firmly in place, was easy to use and remove–even with the aforementioned phone case. Since the tether is basically a big rubber band, it wants to pull and hold the phone centered in the mount. If you were to use the tether with a phone that wasn’t held in the center (to avoid the mount from pushing buttons) it would want to pull the phone back to center and probably wouldn’t work well. One added benefit of using the tether- it pulls tight enough against the back of the mount to keep enough resistance to prevent the mount from wanting to inadvertently rotate as some reviewers had described.
All in all, i would recommend this mount with a few important caveats. I like the mount because it is versatile enough i can use it with other phones in the future, but i’ll need to make sure they always have a phone case available to protect the buttons from being pushed. I also will order a replacement tether to keep on the bike. In the event the original tether were to break, I would not probably use this mount or only mount the phone in a more “cradled landscape” position.

I have this grip attached to a suction mount. I use it to hold my camera when I’m in a video conference. It also works great for taking pictures of families when you need something to hold the camera. Pros: 1. It has a good grip to hold your item. 2. It’s a universal 1 inch ball mount. 3. If you have a ball mount in your automobile, it’s the best thing to hold your phone.

Hola a todos,
Compré este accesorio para usar el móvil de gps. Lo he usado con un MotoG y un Galaxy S. Hay que ir con cuidado dónde caen los botones pero los engancha muy bien y seguro. Lo he llevado incluso en una Tenerá por pistas y ningún problema.
Recientemente he adquirido un LG G4 de 5.5″ y también lo coge perfectamente. Además el LG tiene la gran ventaja en este caso de tener los botones de encendido y volúmen en la parte trasera al lado de la cámara, con lo que tiene los bordes laterales limpios y puedes ponerlo perfectamente centrado en este soporte.
Como digo el soporte aguanta el teléfono muy bien. Sólo tener cuidado como precaución de colocarlo en un sitio de la moto protegido por el viento. No tiene sentido ponerlo en contra del viento porque el móvil hará efecto vela y podría salir disparado. De hecho las instrucciones indican que las patillas de goma se peguen con pegamento y que se tenga cuidado de amarrar el móvil si se va a usar en movimiento. Yo como lo llevo protegido por el carenado no he hecho nada de las dos cosas y no se mueve ni un milímetro. Pero si lo ponéis desprotegido, tenerlo en cuenta.

I am so satisfied with this purchase that I felt compelled to write a review. The fit, finish, ruggedness, ease of use and price all met or exceeded my expectations. And that’s not easy to do! I’m the type of person who believes in “a place for everything, and everything in its place”. This mount allows me to put my phone exactly where I want it while driving and it stays put – period. You should know a couple things if you plan to purchase:
1. this mount is not stealthy – you will notice it, especially when you don’t have your phone in it and also from other angles such as the passenger seat. I would advise trying different locations to minimize obstructing your view. This is not a problem, but it’s something to consider. The advantages to the way this mount is made are the design and material. It won’t break and it won’t move around while driving.
2. RAM makes an excellent product, but ultimately it’s up to you the consumer to make sure you buy the right combination of parts to optimally fit your need. I owe thanks to another reviewer here on Amazon to tipping me off to the double socket swivel arm. I would have otherwise bought the 6″ Long Arm (RAM-B-201U-C) but I wouldn’t have been able to adjust the fit nearly as well as I can with the RAP-B-200-2U. Research RAM’s options, understand where and how you want to use it and read other Amazon Reviews. If you do, I have no doubt you will be pleased.

The company I work for uses RAM Mounts to hang accessories like computers and tablets on forklifts, so I’m aware of how versatile they are. I had a bunch of 1” components left over from doing various installs, so I decided to fit my service van with one to hold my phone. I used to use the iOttie ones, but the failure of the adhesive after 3 months on more recent ones is just unacceptable and put my device at risk of breaking. RAM makes various bases, I opted for the diamond shaped one. I disassembled the dash and used one of the vent covers as my mounting point. I used 5MM nuts / bolts with blue medium threadlocker. When deciding on a mount I went with the “large phone” size since my iPhone 15 Pro Max is pretty large. It also works fine for my iPhone 12 I use for work. It includes a tube of superglue for holding the rubber pads in place. The only thing I wish is that there was a way of locking the rotation of the mount.

J’ai déjà le support boule et l’articulation donc je suis naturellement aller vers ce support maintenant que mon téléphone est étanche et que je n’ai plus besoin d’une housse. Je dois dire que je suis encore bluffé par la qualité, la solidité et la qualité des support RAM. Le tout absorbe pas mal de vibrations donc l’écran est toujours lisible et le téléphone ne bouge pas. J’avoue ne pas vouloir prendre le risque de faire tomber mon téléphone donc j’installe au moins le bas de l’élastique sur mon téléphone et je n’ai eu aucun soucis ainsi.
Ce qui m’a décidé à mettre le prix est surtout qu’énormément de professionnels de la route en 2 roues utilisent ce système et sans l’élastique (taxi moto, livreurs …)

4 ~ 5 インチの中小サイズのスマートフォンだと、走行の振動で左右どちらかに傾く可能性があります
4 本のアームは内部で交差して実際には 2 本のアームからなっており
スプリングで閉じているのを開いて挟む構造のため、保持力は挟むモノが大きいほど強くなるので
保持力が弱いと感じる方は RAM テザー (X-グリップホルダーUN7用) を一緒に購入すると良いかも知れません
アームの可動域が余って回転する点は、中央の黒部分に
NEW ピットクッション 50mm 等をホームセンター等で探して貼ると安定するかも知れません
本製品は部位単位で売られているので、バイクを複数台所有している場合でも
バイクに直接付ける部品だけ買い足せば使い回しができ、経済的でもあります
汎用性に優れた良い製品だと思います
