This stuff is the best example I can think of, of a product that not only works but far exceeded my expectations. As one reviewer mentioned, it will cause wintertime ice to easily flake off. Ditto for summertime bug removal. It repels rain so well that it is a viable alternative to doing an expensive windshield wiper mechanism repair (for those of us that drive old cars). I work as a highway patrolman (er . . patrolperson) for a living, and quickly learned that windshield wipers tend to lift off of the windshield when when having to drive at 80-90+. No problem with Rain-X as this is where it works best — aided by the wind to blow your windshield clear. MANY TIMES I have driven to a call at high speed, in blinding downpour rain, with my wipers turned off and seeing perfectly (and enjoying my coffee), while other traffic is stopped on the shoulder or crowded in under bridge overpasses (I still can’t figure out the purpose of that) due to no visibility. And I find that it lasts for several weeks on a car that is not garaged. My highest recommendation. Three thumbs up! Oops – make that two thumbs up.

I applied this exactly as it instructed and didn’t really get to test it until it rained a week after. I have to say that this is a very good rain repellent. Driving about 30 it doesn’t really do much, but I use the highway most of the time anyway and I have to say that this is very nice! The rain starts to roll right up the window starting at around 40 MPH. From then on out, it really starts to show even more. We recently had a really bad rain storm and I could see everyone on the road had their wipers on full speed trying to keep the water off their windshield so they could see and I didn’t even need to use my wipers. Even going about 30, the water beads up and is perfectly clear. At night when it rains and the speed limit is 30-35, the beaded up water does illumiate under street lights, so it is advisable to use your wipers as you normally would; I do.
Overall, this is a very good product and I will continue using it whenever needed. I highly recommend this.

It’s just a great product exactly as advertised..get a couple microfiber towels. One for product/application/even distribution..the other for even removal of product..Wax on Wax off its simple yet genius

I was skeptical on whether this would be easy or difficult to accomplish, but it is fairly easy. The directions are very clear and it is almost impossible to screw it up even if you don’t follow the directions to a T. The results are amazing! I applied this treatment the first day in March on both my car and my spouses and it is now the beginning of May and it is still working great! I would say that after using it for the 2 treatments (mine and my spouses car) I could still get 4 to 6 more treatments out of the bottle. 3.5 oz is not that much liquid, but getting around 8 applications is well worth the deal. An autoshop could charge $10-15 just to apply it once. Do it yourself and save some money! Buy this!

I have been using Rain-X for the last 15 years and there is never a time, except for maybe the coldest days of our Boston winters, where my cars don’t have a relatively fresh application on the windshields.
The key to applying this stuff is to take your time. Use a microfiber cloth or even a paper towel and apply it like wax. It takes a good 4-5 minutes to put on a thorough application. To remove the hazing, just spray on some water and wipe with a fresh microfiber cloth. It works amazing, but don’t expect to go “windshield wiper free” unless you are on the highway driving faster than the speed limit tells you is appropriate. However, it helps dramatically with visibility and makes it so light rain isn’t as bothersome.
Give it a try, it is worth the small price of admission!

I was extremely skeptical about purchasing this type of product, but after using it I have to admit that it does in fact work very well!
After a month and a half of bearing a brutal Rhode Island winter (snow, sleet, rain, hail, road salt, dirt) without me garaging my car it STILL is working! (maybe just beginning to wear off now) I didn’t get any special wipers or other treatments at all.
Right after the application I was worried because it seemed to ‘frost-over’/glaze my windshield with a white film, but after I let it sit a couple of hours in the sun it was crystal clear again. MAKE SURE IT IS WARM (above 40`F); I found out myself that, just as the instructions said, it is otherwise difficult to apply. One bottle is enough for 2-3 windshield treatments, or 1 full-car treatment. For the price it’s a fair deal. My only recommendation would be use a tighter cap for the bottle… mine leaked a little at the seam during application, so keep an eye out for that.
