Be aware that this price is only for a single unit. I usually use quicksilver products for my merc engine so tried this. I also ordered the less expensive 5 pack units. No real difference. I would avoid this seller given the price.

Fits 5.7L Mercruiser perfect. On my motor you needed 5 because there is one under the block on the power steering cooler unit I believe. It’s down under the unit on the right side of the motor looking from the front. Opposite the block one. Mine was a 97 Bayliner. Be careful taking the old ones out. I broke off one just below the butterfly on the top. Luckily it had a hole in the middle and was able to turn it out with a screw I put in that hole.
They are supposed to be just hand tight…then check for leaks.

These Mercruiser style plugs seem to be a better solution for Crusader Heat Exchanger drain plugs, which are brass. Typically I’m anti-plastic, but in this case the metal on metal puts a lot of stress on the brazed on threads and brass plug Crusader uses. I had a a brass threaded insert put on my crusader HE’s and use this plug… Just less torque as I’ve seen the metal on metal crumble over time. Sometimes plastic is better. Not often. Little bit pricey, but it is the good “thermo” style plastic…. sooooooooo
