This stuff work. Period. This is a chemical reaction, not a paint. I think some people expect this to function as a paint and leave a nice black layer like paint. That is not what it does. Yes, it may leave a white residue. This is over-phosphating of the rusty metal. If this is happening, dilute your spray solution with some distilled water. I use 1 part solution to 2 parts water. This does not leave any white residue. If you are painting this rusty metal after treating it and you have the white residue, just paint over the top of it. It will not make any difference in the appearance of your rusty metal part. If you don’t want to paint the part, it will darken up some over time. The white residue does not go away. Paint over the top of it if you don’t like the appearance. The parts treated will NOT continue to rust. If you use a dilute solution and you are not sure if it is strong enough to fully react with all the rust because you are lazy and didn’t clean your part, just spray on some more after it dries.

The first photo is beofe, the other 2 are after.
I used Rust Converter ultra several times. I thought this would be a close alternative. Not in the least bit. The product almost created a electrical fire. Created arching off of my starter and it converted nothing. It also created dangerous vapors ( burned eyes and nose), even with a respirator and goggles.

The stuff is like magic- work’s great . It saved my truck. I will pray I don’t need the second bottle. It gets in the tight places.

I’ve used this for a couple years. Works good. I ordered 2 1 gallon jugs, one had leaked a small amount inside the plastic bag. Probably from rough handling during shipping.

I know there are multiple phosphoric acid products. The only other product I’ve used was “Ospho” which seemed to work a lot better than oxygone
