These are well made filters with a lot of fine filtering media in them. I always choose the largest filter with the correct diameter seal and the correct threads. This way I get the most filter media and the largest oil capacity for my money. Why not, most filters are the same price.

For example my Mazda specifies PL10241, but I get an extra 1.4″ of length with either PL20195 or Pl25230

The pressure relief is the pressure at which a clogged filter will allow the oil to bypass the filter media. If you change filters regularly you won’t need to worry about this being higher than the manufacurers specification. Just never choose one that is lower or a high pressure system could be bypassed all the time.

The quality of the oil filter and construction of it!

  3. Jason

Excellent filter at a great price point. Well known to out perform the “orange” brand at a better price.

  4. MC Ronson

I don’t understand why anyone would use any filter other than a PureONE filter for their passenger vehicles. I can’t speak for special or extreme applications for oil filters, of course. That would essentially be a whole different topic.

From my own experience and research, there are few other commonly available filter brands out there that would be close, Bosch being one of them, Champion, and Mobil One the others. K&N isn’t bad, just overrated in my estimation. ANYTHING but Fram which is, to me, a complete scam, selling off of a legacy performance image that hasn’t been a fact for decades.

I order 2 at a time now, so that is not likely to happen to me anymore:).

The bottom line is that PureONE is a top tier performer at a price point at and more often below other, allegedly “premium name brands” that have inferior filtration abilities as stated by their own product data-which of course they often make a consumer hunt for. But the packaging sure is sexy!

On a personal note: I think I’d rather gut an empty oil filter, stuff it with paper towels (probably Bounty®, because it is the quicker picker-upper and quality is important. Plus, you can cut your oil gasket out of the cardboard roller for even greater savings) and screw that onto my truck rather than use a Fram® oil filter.

On second thought, I’d better not, because it would probably be considered a patent infringement on their trade secret.violation from them.

Purolator makes excellent filters only filters I use oil and air filters …use the Purolator One canister filter on wifes jeep trailhawk and the old trusty Purolator one spin on filter on my 87 dodge 4×4….Amazon just can’t get no QC on there stuff the second replacement filter was in worse shape than the original the box itself looked like it had been left outside or something it was damp and bottom of box was tore open and whole box was soft and the bag it was shipped in was damp on the bottom ….Amazon or the carriers issue I don’t know but both filters were in bad shape

  6. NBaker

Great performance and durability, easy grip and easy removal. Removal. Half the price of what it cost at a normal store. Great value!

  7. Dave Maloney

Purolator makes a very good filter. My only complaint is that the last one I ordered arrived with a considerable dent in it.

    JUST AS NEEDED

Growing up my dad always told me that Fram were the only oil filters he ever used, so ever since I was 16, that’s all I used when I changed my oil in my car. Being a college student now and doing research about oil and oil filters on my own, I found that putting Fram filters in was once the best you can buy, but now they’re one of the worst brands and worst quality filters you can put in your car. Do you’re self a favor, spend a little more money, only $3 more on amazon, and buy Purolator PureONE filters, they are high quality and will clean your oil and keep your engine running longer. After doing lots of research, these are one of the best you can buy and amazon has them for an amazing price!

Used this filter on my 390FE. Perfect fit and perfect filter. I run this brand filter on all my vehicles for the last 20 years. Never a issue, but are getting harder to find in local parts stores.
