Things were going smoothly until I had to remove my phone from its mount, and it began to pop out of the vents. Reinserting it led to the rubber surrounding the metal holder getting damaged, which in turn caused harm to the vents.

I can’t use any kind of wireless charger with this mount due to the magnet that needs to be applied to the phone. I wish I would have known this before hand or I wouldn’t have bought it/applied the magnet.

For the record, I did not purchase this through Amazon. I was on a road trip and stopped by the Verizon store in Pinole, CA and purchased this to help with reading imaps on my phone. I paid more than twice the Amazon price at the Verizon store.
It was easy enough to put together/install, but it has no stabilizer and highway 80 is no smooth ride, The item gives a few choices for applying the magnet – I chose the lighter adhesive between my phone and the magnet instead of the stronger adhesive directly on the back of the magnet. Wrong choice…. Without a stabilizer the whole unit vibrates even on the smooth patches of the freeway. It worked well enough to for my day’s drive and I detached my phone from the holder for the evening (the light adhesive still keeping the magnet attached to my phone – kind of annoying). The next day when I reattached my phone for another drive, the adhesive holding the magnet to the phone gave up the ghost. The magnet stayed attached to the holder, but the phone wouldn’t stay attached to the magnet.. So today I ordered a VICSEED holder (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B084ZFK84T/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). If this one works better (hopefully a lot better), I’ll post a review.

Model A’s have steel dashboards. The phone holders work if you put the 2 sticky parts together & magnetic ends on the phone & dashboard.

I was shopping for a replacement magnet because my wife is using mine now lol we both LOVE this thing. So here’s my experience… first, i love how you can just pop your phone on and off the holder which is impressive to other people that see it in action. The magnet is powerful and will likely work under your protective case, it does ours. It may prevent wireless charging which- that crap never worked for me anyway, but if that’s your thing, then you may want to consider that. Personally, i honestly like this holder so much i would be willing to give up wireless charging to be able to use this thing- just sayin- even tho im probably starting to sound like an affiliate, which im not lol. Ok so, for installation you’ll want to do what i did. Go to the store (Walmart or Staples would be good) and get you some 3M double-sided clear temporary tape. Go ahead and apply the strong adhesive to the back of the magnet, then put 2 or 3 strips of the tape on the back of your phone where you want the magnet to attach (this is why you want the temporary dbl-sided tape!). You want the tape just slightly longer than the magnet. The tape is plenty powerful enough to hold the magnet to the phone i assure you, but just in-case, i like to have extra surface area in case it moves a little thru all the bumping and vibrating of driving and because it’s temporary it wont leave adhesive on your phone if you ever have to take the magnet off for any reason and i can pretty much guarantee you at some point you may want or need to, even if it’s just for minor adjustments. The strong adhesive on the magnet ensures it will stay attached to the temp-3m dbl sided tape when in use and using a little extra will also help to ensure the tape stays attached to your phone aside from the benefits of having a bigger space to attach the magnet to. I hope that makes sense. Also i payed like $30 for this thing at a Verizon store. At only $10 here on Amazon, even tho i was just looking for an extra magnet, is tempting to just get the whole kit n kabootles. You’re gonna love the quality of the holder ive never had 1 issue with it i LOVE how adjustable it is and the bendy neck lets you get the placement of your phone exactly right, only having to adjust it back occasionally due to the nature of the bendy material and it holding a phone while your car is bouncing up and down highways all day. Whoever gave this product a 1-star review… kind of a jerk move. This is a 5-star product all day long and i wish i could give it 5 more. It is absolutely an impressive product, worthy of my defense and my time put in to review it like this. It has many features that should guard it from 1-star reviews like the quality for example is undeniable, even if it doesn’t work how some people might’ve expected. It deserves at least 3 stars for the quality alone, really strong and effective magnet should net another star and the genuinely impressive way your phone just pops into place when you set it against the holder is just so darn satisfying! I love this thing and for $10, you need to try it. Its 10 freaking dollars, that’s like 2 red bulls or monsters…
