- WHAT DOES THIS PRODUCT DO – Canvas Cleaner – Specially formulated to deep clean and help prevent the growth of green this cleaner will remove everyday contaminates such as bird droppings, road salt, tree sap, and . Cleaning your top is the first stage in the Protex soft top restoration process.
- WHAT DOES THIS PRODUCT DO – Canvas Waterproofer – Specially formulated to seal and protect your canvas soft top this polymer based sealant will provide protection against moisture and other environmental damage. Used after Protex Canvas Cleaner or Canvas Dye this is the final stage in the Protex soft top restoration process.
- COVERAGE & PREPARTION – Canvas Cleaner – It is recommended that approximately 500ml of product is sufficient to clean a top for a 2 seater car. The canvas soft top must be colourfast so test on an inconspicuous area first, to ensure fabric dye does not run. Do not apply the cleaner in direct sunlight as drying time will be to fast preventing the cleaner from working properly.
- COVERAGE & PREPARATION – Canvas Waterproofer – It is recommended that approximately 500ml of product is sufficient to waterproof a top for a 2 seater car. It is best to apply the product in cool/overcast conditions so that drying time is not too fast and to avoid causing an uneven finish. Shake the bottle well and decant sufficient product into a separate container to apply to the soft top.
- FOLLOW UP – After Cleaning it is recommended that the canvas is then restored using Canvas Restorer and/or sealed and protected using Protex Canvas Waterproofer.Do not expose to moisture until the proofer has completely dried. After waterproofing it is recommended that the canvas is sealed and protected using Protex Canvas Waterproofer every six months.

Sealer makes it look new.

Plan on spending an hour or more to apply the sealer. I recommend using a small roller instead of the paint brush that was provided with the kit.

This product applies easily and beads up on the first rain, but only beads up once. Subsequent rains soak in to the fabric top.

I achieved great results on my new Miata with this kit. I’m not sure how often the waterproofing needs to be applied, but I’ll do yearly.

Bought due to good feedback on here & it was the right decision. Kit includes 2 brushes for application & a scrubbing brush for cleaning. Instructions are clear on the bottles. I didn’t need much cleaning fluid for my Fiat 500 so plenty left for more applications. I probably used about 2/3 of a bottle of the waterproofer which has done the job and this morning the water is forming droplets rather than soaking in so it’s worked well but I think I’ll give it another coat anyway, just to use up the bottle. I bought my car 2nd hand so not sure how the canvas roof had been after before but it’s come up alot brighter than before. Good value compared to other products. Overall very pleased with this product.
Update: I went to apply a 2nd coat but it was just rolling off the roof! I guess it’s worked better than I thought!
