Say compatible with Ford Explorer 2005 but as other reviews said this is the wrong part as it obstructs the door from being closed. Seller wasted my time and money with misleading description. As you can see from the photo the original Ford part on the right has the bracket then motor then regulator. This piece of garbage has the bracket then regulator then motor. The result is the regulator obstructs the door from closing properly.

As stated in the header, This was an easy install. about a 15 min going slow, if you already have the ground work done before hand (the rivet drilled out!) the geniuses at ford decided to use a rivet instead of a bolt and nut to hold the window to the regulator ( I guess as a money grab). so you have to get a bolt with a locking nut to remedy that stupidity. fits right, works like a charm!

This is a common part that fails on Explorers. It was a little bit of a pain to actually replace, but if you watch a few videos on the internet and take your time, you can save a lot of money. This part worked perfectly and is holding up well.

I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing. Installed and worked fine until it came time to shut the door. Door open limit bar hits this and keeps door from closing properly. Should maybe remove this from parts that fit the 2002 Explorer.

They said it couldnt be done. They told me only a mechanic can fix this. They were all wrong! The autopart store sells this same product only it’s 2 separate pieces for twice the price, funny right? Before you take on this little project you will need a few solid hours of daylight and an open mind to understand how this thing works. My window didnt work when I bought my Explorer and I discovered it was wired shut when I dissected my door. First you need to tape the glass with the window rolled up so it doesnt move or fall, unscrew the 3+ screws holding the frame to the door and glass, drill through the rivets that hold the factory window in place, then carefully take the old motor and housing out of the weird hole in the metal frame of your car door. I took apart my other door to see how it all should look, but putting it all together is a cake walk. Oh, and be prepared because this motor rolls your window up pretty quick!
