    Product described as new but I clearly received someone else’s return (signs of wear and found a pulley nut rattling around inside the alternator). I installed it anyway and it is working. We’ll see how long it lasts.

    If your looking for a top notch alternator this is it, it comes with a individual tested amp card for idle, mid range and full out. Make sure you do not over rev, the instructions give you a table to check this. I for one had to change out the pulley because I run a under drive crankshaft pulley and had done the math previously. I had been running a 100 amp alternator but the car was struggling, fuel pump, dual fans, dual vacuum pumps, plus all the non standard ignition stuff. I installed the Powermaster 57294 150 amp and my troubles are over, the fuel pump doesn’t drop down and lag any longer. Best deccession I made.

    …Except for the fact that any of the old style alternators (no matter the amp rating) seem to be unable to supply all accessories at idle, in gear at a stoplight in the heavy rain when you need headlights, defrost on high (which adds the A/C), rear defogger plus my SPAL electric radiator fans. It will only give about 11 volts so the battery is being consumed rather than charged during these times. I even have all LED lights everywhere which draw a fraction of old style lamp bulbs. My attempt to solve this will be the smallest alternator pulley I could find which I have used on previous alternators to good effect— that is, under the above conditions the alternator keeps charging and the dash voltmeter reads 14.5 volts the entire time, confirmed by my VOM at the battery terminals. It is like the engine idling an extra 500 rpm with the original pulley.

    I believe I connected it correctly. It is not charging the battery. It’s on a 1969 DeVille and has not been driven much at all; maybe 200 miles since installation. Sure would like support on this issue. I’ll see what they have to say.

    Works well, fits as expected, keeps 14 + volts with all my off road and search lights on,
    After 10 minutes it was barely warm.
    Very happy with my purchase and it’s made in the USA, not some Chinese garbage.

    If this alternator doesn’t last but for the warranty duration, I’d be satisfied with my purchase! By far, it’s a definite upgrade from the stock OEM version. I have LEDs galore both inside and out and couldn’t run certain multiple lights at the same time. That is until now! And that’s not even factoring in the sound system. At idle with 3 sets of spot lights turned on this thing had a 100 amp output. That was more than the OEM put out without any lights and going down the road. They have a customer for life right here!

    Had a power issue on my Jeep with a AMC 360 and DUI distributor. Upgraded to this alternator and don’t have any more problems, it makes plenty of power for the engine, lights, and accessories. Power master has never disappointed me and their alternators always work, easy to install, and last through some harsh conditions.

    Great product. Does what I wanted. Keep yj with a sbc. Needed to keep 14 volts at idle to make sure my electric fan ran properly. Does just that. No more dropping down below 12 volts at idle. Battery stays charged. Used to have to charge it every 3 weeks. I am usually running at low rpms so this has been money well spent. Had it on for about 6 weeks now. No issues
