This worked great to open up a rough 870 28″ barrel that would have FTE problems while shooting sporting clays. About 15 min with this on a drill and I increased the ID from .80 to .81. Shells that I would have to pry out with a screwdriver I can pop out with a tap from my fingernail.

I reamed out an anodize aluminum collar with this tool. It worked great. I worked it pretty hard for an hour and there is plenty of stone material left for many more jobs.

Supplier shipped the larger size, whereas I had ordered smaller.
Quality of larger unit looked good.
But won’t be ordering again due to concern over a repeat of the supplier error fiasco.
Thank goodness amazon returns work well.

works as described; my bore was not rusted badly. I powered it with an electric drill and it cleaned up the bore and the stones did not wear out. It works with a rear caliper whose parking brake mechanism in place, so if I had 3-prong hone, I might have had difficulty. I actually thought about returning it because I thought I had bought a 3-prong one. Fortunately things worked out.

I got this to hone a shotgun chamber and it worked like a charm. The spring tension was very easy to adjust and all I used to complete the task was my drill and some WD-40 for lube. Unless you’re a full-time mechanic the quality was more than adequate for the job and maybe it will come in handy for something else. It was either this or the ball-type hone, and I like the fact that this one is adjustable.

This is a great value for those looking to buy a cylinder honing tool and not spend a bunch of money. It is ideal for the average small to medium size cylinder and it has proven to last quite a while. When comparing the quality of this to the higher cost name brand tools, I find that this provides a comparable finish for a much lower cost.

NOT for brake calipers!
The design is for a much deeper bore than a typical brake caliper. I had to shorten the stones (cut them off) to make it work. For a piston bore, no problem.

I bought this hone to fix one of my Maglite flashlights that suffered the results of a leaky battery. I keep a three cell Maglite in each of my two vehicles and have added the LED bulb to them for increased illumination. I’m beginning to lose faith in many battery manufacturers because they all seem to leak any more. Any attempt to be compensated for a new flashlight due to their faulty product is usually met with a “too bad, we can replace the batteries but that’s it.” I caught this in time so that minimal damage was done but pitted the interior of the tube. I’d thought about using a hone before but never did so this time I decided it was time to do just that. I wiped out the inside to remove any residue then put the hone in my drill and worked it in and out until I felt good about the job. There is still some pitting but for the most part, the light has been restored to a usable condition. In other words, it works! I have run across other things that I would have liked having this hone to smooth out the interior of a tube before so now I have one. I have another flashlight that I want to use it on but I hope I don’t have to use it on any more of my Maglites. I’m sure that this hone will work if I have to work over any cylinders on engines too but I hate working on that sort of thing so maybe not. Otherwise, I found this to be a very durable and useful tool.
