I’m happy with this pump as a well-made replacement for the failed pump on our early teens Accord Crosstour, now driven by my college-age daughter. Steering was getting harder and harder and I didn’t find any leak in the rack, and a fluid exchange didn’t solve the issue, so I was happy to find this pump, and did the replacement the same day it arrived.
The fit is excellent and everything installed as expected – it’s pretty simple to do: after removing the old pump the same fittings for the hydraulic fluid system went into the body of the new pump (very easily, and tightly) and the bolts match up perfectly to secure the pump to the block/bracket. It was great to get a replacement pulley and this one is well-balanced. There is no noise generated by this pulley due to being out-of-round in any significant way and it aligned well with the serpentine belt so no shimming with washers (other than the stock washers, which get re-used with the 2 stock bolts) was required to accurate align pulley to belt.
I do recommend taking this opportunity to replace the serpentine belt since it has to come loose, and I also took this opportunity to check the tensioner and its pulley, plus the idler pulley, plus all other peripherals (and their pulleys and bearings) which are driven by the belt. This is a good time to find anything else wrong and fix it.
The pump functions very well, generating pressure equivalent to when the vehicle was new almost 15 years ago – the steering wheel turns very easily at idle speeds when stationary, even with the big meaty tires we have on this Crosstour-model Accord. And my daughter is happy to have back her working power steering. I think it’s a well-made pump that represents a very good value.
