Finally found a phone holder that just works in the Tesla! It clips onto the screen and you can twist it around however you like and it fits the three different phones we have in our household wonderfully! When the car is self driving, and you want to just glance at something on your phone, it doesn’t yell at you!
Just a simple and solid holder that lets you use your phone without the car getting all stressed.

I purchased a Model 3 Tesla and like all Tesla’s it needs to be connected to the internet almost constantly. After a trial period customers can pay $10/mo for premium connectivity through the company or they can use their phone to create a hotspot. I chose the later since I never use any where the amount of data I pay for with my cellular plan.
Here’s where this phone mount comes into play. Model 3’s have a charging space under the dash and computer screen. I would typically turn on my hotspot as I approached the vehicle and then place my phone in the charging platform. 6 out of 10 times the car would connect to my hotspot and everything was fine. But, those other 4 times were annoying to say the least. Everything in the car runs on apps – Navigation, Entertainment, Security – to name a few. No connection, no music!
So I thought moving the phone from the center console and under the dash and placing it above the screen connectivity – both my phone to my provider and between the phone and the car – would be improved. It is!
This phone holder is great – it comes in 2 pieces that you snap together and then attach to the screen. It is designed so that it can be placed on any of the corners of the screen. The first piece holds the device to the screen by tightening a knob that is attached to a rubber pad so the screen is not damaged. The second piece holds your phone and swivels in all directions. I chose the style that has clamps to secure the phone instead of magnets. I slide my phone into place, squeeze the clamps and I’m good to go. When I reach my destination I press the release button on the back of the holder and remove my phone.
I recommend putting the two pieces together before you install in your car. Overall it took me about 10 minutes to get everything done and most of that time was moving the device around to the different corners to determine placement. I would give this 5 stars but I think the arm holding the phone should be just a bit longer.

It’s so nice having a phone mount that doesn’t use adhesive and doesn’t have a suction cup that falls off.
The construction of this mount is effectively two gripping arms opposed at a 90° angle to each other and then a twist-adjustable pad that pushes into the glass to provide a tight grip to prevent slippage.
Simple, works well, and the ball-and-socket design means you can pair this with other ball-and-socket phone mounts to get a longer arm to position your phone right where I want.
Affordable, solid, strong, and a unique design that is useful for more than just Tesla vehicles.

I drive my Tesla for DoorDash for a living. I wouldn’t make deliveries without this phone holder. It’s super functional and does exactly what you need it to do. I’ve only had it for about a week but so far it’s incredibly useful. I highly recommend it.
