The PHILTOP Engine Air Filter was a good fit for my 2019 Avalon. The construction is very similar to a reusable filter I’ve been using in my motorcycle for years, and which has given me excellent service. The basic structure is a non-degrading filtering medium sandwiched between stainless steel screen. and folded accordion-style, like common “paper” filters. You wash it, and it’s good as new.
The idea of reusable/washable air filters isn’t new. If I remember correctly, the air filter on my first car, a ’57 Chevy, was an oil-saturated screen that was designed to be cleaned and reused.
Besides saving money over time, I see a couple of other advantages. First, it’s getting away from the single-use, disposable mentality that we’ve become accustomed to. Pay for a new Everything, and Everything just goes to a landfill. The second advantage is that I don’t have to either buy these in bulk and store them, or look up the part number and either order online and pay, directly or indirectly, the cost of shipping, or make a trip to the auto parts store every time.
I’ll probably order these filters for my other vehicles as well.

From what I can tell this is a performance air filter to fit the stock air filter location on the F150. It replaced the cheap paper filter that was in my truck and fit great! It has a great seal going back in it’s slightly tighter than the paper filter was.
So far I am impressed I swear I can feel a difference in performance even if it’s slight. Might get a little better gas mileage too but it’s only been in a week or so, so we’ll see.
I love that this filter is reuseable you can clean it. I looked everywhere and I could not find anything saying that this filter needed any sort of oil like some of the performance filters do. That’s all the better because I really didn’t want to deal with that.
In my opinion for what it’s worth I’d say try it out. It is much better than a paper filter.
