ease of installation, great performance

I had retroftted a ’56 Corvette dual-points swashplate into my distributor to replace the original damaged single-points one. However, this particular mount wouldn’t coexist with the dual setup. So, I converted down to single and it fitted in like a charm. The magnet was a little less snug on the center than I would have liked, that was remedied by wrapping a bit of tape around the cam and then fitting it. Fault of Pertronix? No. My fault for having a Frankenstein’d distributor! Nothing a little work couldn’t make right.
As for the results after fitting? Well, the ignition now stays bang on the mark each and every time, there’s no stuttering and no misfire. The car feels a lot more eager to pick up and go, more torque for sure. My fuel economy is better, gone from about 11 to nearly 15mpg which is a massive improvement.
I have the points and condenser in a Tupperware container in the trunk in case it decides to quit out on me but it’s done 1500 miles so far since fitting and I have to say it is by far the best improvement I jave made to the car, the alternator coming in second.

Easy install on my 54 Pontiac with a straight 8 cyl took about 15 min to install now it fires right up and to points to ever adjust or burn out note for 12v system

I put this in my 1950 Pontiac straight 8,it took 10 or 15 min at tops, make sure you push the magnet down on the distributor it should be very snug . Maintains the original look
