for 66′ willies/kiaser cj5, it never ran so good as after this hall effect pointless item as installed, follow the directions and you will be fine.

It is and had been working great. Starting and running is much improved

Wow! Installation was reasonably easy, getting proper clearances a little touchy but OK for an amateur. I found that my old distributor must be rather worn, the final clearance varies from one side to the other, just barely within the tolerances required. But the main point is that my old Jeepster starts and runs so much better! I did find, however, that I had no spark at all with my stock or my “high-output” aftermarket coil, I had to buy the Pertronix coil with more internal resistance—so it all cost $30 more than I expected. My advice is to buy their coil to start with if yours doesn’t measure >3 ohms internally. My old Jeepster with the Buick-style V6 went from a hard starter to instant firing, so I feel the effort and cost was well worth it.

Installed this in a 1967 Jeep CJ5 with the 225cid “Dauntless” V6. Installation was pretty simple, if you can change the points/condenser you should be able to do it without any trouble. The only minor complication I had was that the grommet where the wire exits the distributor (which you need to remove and replace with the grommet included in the kit, to make room for the two wires from the Pertronix unit) had hardened with age and I had to break it up with a screwdriver to get it free.

The instructions I received didn’t mention one important detail — the sensor ring can be installed in two different orientations, only one of which is correct (the square notch in the ring needs to be on the same side as the square hole in the plate that holds the mechanical advance arms). Google around for “pertronix dauntless” and you’ll find some good pictures in various Jeep forums.

I didn’t have to remove the distributor or even loosen the hold-down bolt. After the install it started up on the first crank and seems to run better than ever!

Works as should, happy to have saved quite a few bucks over dealer pricing.

From the manufacturers materials and phone calls to tech support this is the correct electronic ignition module (in fact it is the only one available from this manufacturer) for my Delco distributor 1110322 and my 1965 6 cylinder engine. However it does not fit and is there for defective.

Great product and easy to install, works beautifully.

I installed with a new distributor. The quality of the wires are not good. I also tossed the ring terminals, they are crap. If you do this swap, get some quality 3m or anchor terminals. I think pertronix could have came up with better power wires, but hopefully they’ll hold up.

I had been thinking of buying this conversion for quite a while. So when I needed to replace the points and condenser I decided to put that money toward the PerTronix Kit. I just had to make sure I had an Odd Fire engine as someone else had transplanted it into the Willys. I read that some people had not pulled the distributor to install the kit, but after looking at it for awhile I saw that to get it right it would be easier to pull it. That was the smart thing to do to get he clearances correct and I needed to install the spacer above the drive gear for the correct up and down play. It was also good to lube and free up the advance arms and base plate—these are old engines. put it all back together and installed the PerTronix coil with it, it fired right up. Adjusted the timing with my light and it is running great. Seems to run smoother and has more low end power. It will pull down to a very low RPM and keep running. This is the second PerTronix unit I have purchased. I put one on my 1958 Massey Ferguson tractor and it has been running better that ever for five years now. PerTronix Kits seem like well made systems worth the money. Would diffidently but again.
