When the item arrived the tubes had solidified and the product was useless. Disappointing.

  2. DavidTN

These epoxies have saved me many times. So useful, for so many things.

I purchased this to fix a crack in the lower section of my RV screen door. My kids had kicked the plastic panel below the screen and I could not find a replacement panel. When I came across Permatex PermaPoxy, it seemed like the perfect solution. Using it was easy. I simply used the plunger to push the product out into the supplied tray and then mixed it with the supplied mixing stick. I then used a piece of cardboard to trowel it over the crack on both sides of the panel. The first side turned out great! The second side was good, but I didn’t thin it out as much after troweling it on. But it did the trick and now I don’t have to worry about the panel getting any worse.

Do not buy. The other review is spot on. Mine was solid as well.

After using many different Epoxies, I have found this one to be the best for applications for use in water. I have used other Epoxy that seemed to work ok until used in water, then they fell apart. So far, not this one after two years. The thirty min time limit is nice to have where you have complicated areas to glue down. The extra time is helpful when you are not in a hurry and want a better looking job. I bought this Permatex through Amazon as it is hard to find in a retail store. All other Permatex products are easy to find, but not this 84017 Epoxy. I would buy this product again.

I had one of those plastic luggage straps break. In order to replace it I had to unstich the overlapped strap. I don’t own a sewing machine. So I used this epoxy instead and it worked perfect. Very very happy with the results.

30 minutes is much better than the 5 minutes ones.

    GREAT EPOXY.

  9. C. W. Sayre

After having a complete failure with this epoxy, I performed a simple test of steel-to-steel adhesion qualities for various adhesives. While this Permatex epoxy may have higher tensile shear strength than basic hot glue, putty-type epoxy, or contact cement, it did not adhere to the steel anywhere near as strongly as those products did; and definitely didn’t come close to the adhesion qualities of my old standby, J.B. Weld. The Permatex epoxy simply pulled away from the roughened and cleaned steel when the metal test pieces were even slightly torqued.

I found this epoxy to be quite useless for bonding steel to anything, and will now stick with J.B. Weld.

    Did the job.
