Smooth to apply, no issues. Bonded well. The bad is it only lasted about 4 months. Mirror fell off again.

Whatever you do, make sure you know exactly where you want the mirror button on the windshield. If you follow the directions exactly (with a magnifying glass to read them), you’ll have about 5 seconds to align it exactly where you want it. Mine’s crooked, but it’s definitely on there. Get some 400 grit sandpaper and a flat surface and sand the old button (or a new one) to roughen it up a bit and clean off any residual adhesive. This is the third brand I tried, and it worked. The other didn’t hold long enough to tighten the screw on the mirror.

The mirror is back on and holding. Took my like 5 minutes to do and was really simple.

I bought this to remount the mirror in my 2010 F150. I had to purchase a second pack because, like and idiot, I mounted it upside down the first time – even after taking extra precautions to make sure it was oriented correctly too. Oh well. One thing to note, there is no “adjusting it into position” after it’s in place. Once you touch the mirror mount button to the windshield it sticks pretty much instantly.
Other than that mishap the glue works well and is easy to use. It comes with everything you need to do the job other than a blade to scrap off any old glue. The instructions are good and if you follow them you should have no problems…well as long as you have the mount in the right direction that is !! The entire process takes maybe five minutes.
Note: If you do happen to make a mistake, you can remove the mount buy heating it up. I used a long igniter and it took only a few minutes for it to come loose…so I could go at it second time.

I normal wait a little while before I write my product reviews just to make sure the product doesn’t break or disappoint after a week…However, this product works just as fast as it took to open the packet and read the instructions. I don’t know what type of chemical adhesive reaction is created after this product touched the glass but I could tell INSTANTLY that the permatex was working and this was the correct purchase option. I even dropped the metal hanger and the oil adhesive did not stick to me or my clothing. It wiped right off. But when I re-applied it and placed it on the activated area of the windshield glass it bonded immediately. Incredible! I naively tried to hang my mirror with other adhesives first which all failed, and I wish I would have just used permatex to begin with. Still its done and I’m more than happy with the results. Best $4 I’ve ever spent lol!

Terrible product!! Followed instructions precisely and the glue did not hold at all! Mirror immediately fell down! Waste of time and money because it’s non returnable!

After some of the reviews I was a little concerned that this wouldn’t work.
It works great!
Tips:
Mark the top of the “mirror mounting button”. (Red arrow in photo points to mirror mounting button) When you re-install the mirror mounting button it is important that it is right side up and the smooth side faces the windshield. The second photo shows the obverse side of the mirror mounting button. This is the side that I see after I install the mirror mounting button.
Separate the mirror mounting button from the mirror. It is either plastic or metal. You will need to find instructions for your vehicle in your favorite search engine. Sometimes it is a “set screw”. On my vehicle (Chevy S10) it is a spring loaded friction mount. I firmly pressed a small screwdriver into the lower left slot and the mirror mounting button slipped right out. I did bend the spring back out a little so that it would grip the button firmly. It is tempting to leave them together but you won’t be able to hold the mirror stationary and it will fall off.
Put a piece of tape on the outside of the windshield in the position where the mirror mounting button was located before it fell off. You will use it to position the mirror mounting button.
Clean clean clean. Make sure that the windshield and mirror mounting button are clean and smooth. I used a paint scraping tool (razor blade) to gently remove the old glue from the windshield and get smooth surface on the mirror mounting button.
Follow the directions on the package. The temperature of your windshield and the mirror mounting button are important. The little envelope is an alcohol swab. It helps clean residue from windshield and mirror mounting button.
I installed mine in the afternoon about 70F in the vehicle and let it set overnight.
In the morning I slid the mirror back onto the mirror mounting button. It is still mounted.
Cheers

Awesome product. As package recommends, do not use it below 10 degrees. I used it to glue my rearview mirror metal tab back to the windshield. It’s as strong as an ox. I would buy this again if I needed it…looks like ones good enough and ill never need a other one. That’s how good it is.
