I had a leaky roof in a very hard to get to spot, and this worked like a charm to seal it up. The only reason this didn’t get more stars is because it is VERY runny. I was finding it very difficult to work it into position on even a slight pitch, barely a 1 on 12 pitch. I ended up having to use far more then what i should have in order to get it done, spraying and trying to force it into position, waiting a few minutes until it started to dry and using that piece like a dam for the next spray.

Overall it did its job, just took a bit more work than I expected to get it into the position I needed. Blackjack could not have gotten into that spot very well if at all, so this was just what I needed.

Sprays nicely, coats evenly – but be prepared with paper towels and mineral sprits for clean up ( I did mine over a tarp which caught the majority of the drips) also wear old cloths (long sleeves and pants) – this stuff splatters when it hits the intended target (95% stays put so no complaints) 7 cans only did 50% of a f150 super crew with 6 1/2 ft bed. Ordered 7 more. Dries to a nice flat black – mine only took a day and a half (I drove it and the humidity was low so I’m sure that helped) very happy with the overall quality of the product – hope it helps keep the salt away from the body this winter.

Pretty good stuff. Purchased 1 can to do the bottom of a plywood floor for a 4′ x 4′ trailer. 1 can was just enough… probably would have preferred just a little more (thicker application)… I would say a can is perfect for a 3′ x 3′ space.

Application was great, splatters out just forcefully enough, and even enough without being uncontrollable at all. It is basically just tar in canned form, with a propellant (that separates from the tar upon expulsion, kind of like a clear water liquid that dries off quickly from the black oily tar and does not mix with it, ie oil/water… hope that makes sense). Leaves behind just the black, oil based, sticky road tar. This is irrelevant to how well the product works, applies, or adheres, just thought I would mention it.

I think the can suggested application from 11 or 12 inches… I disagree, I thought it was too forceful and would create a lot of splashing, irregular splatter/pattern. I held back from about 2′ at about a 45 degree angle and that seemed right IMHO.

Takes a couple days to fully dry, a week in a warm garage was perfect for me to fully cure, after which I installed the trailer floor. cures semi-hard, not tacky, but still just ever so slightly soft, as you would expect an undercoating to be.

Good product, we’ll see how it holds up over time.

The spray head of this can is downward, and the sprayed liquid will spray on the body of the can, and the spray is uneven, which is not easy to use. Ionly open one can, and the unuesed ones cannot be returned

This is one of the few I have found that works as cold as 50 degrees.
Wear your old clothes & use a drop cloth as it is messy. When you use up a can keep the
little sprayer as the one on the next can may not work as well. Shake it very well – it pays off.

Bought brand new, an all aluminum trailer, though the dealer stated the composite flooring to be waterproof, after looking under the trailer, I could see deterioration already, just from two months of their dirt lot, from condensation in between winter spring, early summer when I purchased the rig, so Amazon and Permatex to the rescue! Did my own undercoating for pennies compared to the professionals, I can relax now, as the floor underneath this trailer will last for more years than I’ll be around! one can does approx 15 square feet of surface..

I touch up the undercoat of my diesel pick up every year. I’ve been using Dupli Color because it was easy to get. I’ve been finding myself recoating the same places pretty much every year because the Dupli Color has abraded off in higher wear areas.

This year I decided to try something else, so I did some research and got the Permatex. There is a profound difference in the way it applies, covers and the apparent durability of the product. I am very pleased with the Permatex and believe it is worth the premium cost. Once it has dried for a few weeks it appears much more durable than the Dupli Color.

This stull will spray up to 3 feet and lay down a thick enough coating. Other undercoat sprays have a weak spray throw and pattern. It takes a long time (days) to set up and fully dry so don’t rub or brush up against it or you too will be undercoated. The can is set up so you will get every last drop out of it too.

Works well, used on asphalt roof to patch roof leak
