Mounting was easy and works great. Replaced a non-locking cap with no problems, good quality. The way it is designed the cap will spin but not open until key is inserted and turned.

We ordered this after having 1/2 tank of gas stolen from our boat while camping at the lake. It arrived earlier than the expected date of delivery and was exactly what we needed. So glad that I was able to find it on AMAZON.COM

You will need to buy special screws that require a special head to remove in order to help DETOUR theft, the cap does NOT cover the screws, so it’s easy to just remove the THREE screws and remove.
The strap that holds the cap is more like a zip tie that is in a single stationary slit that needs to be GUIDED back through to put the cap back in.
Seems like there is some quality in the product but VERY poorly designed.

THE LOCKING GAS CAP DOES NOT COVER THE 3 PHILIP HEAD SCREWS THAT ATTACH THE INLET FLANG TO THE BOAT. IF YOU WANT TO STEAL THE GAS, JUST REMOVE THE 3 PHILIP HEAD SCREWS AND TAKE THE WHOLE UNIT OUT TO GET THE GAS. THE CIRCUMFERENCE OF THE CAP NEEDS TO BE SLIGHTLY LARGER TO COVER THE SCREWS.

I bought and installed this almost 2 years ago as someone was stealing gas out of boats in our area. Installed easily. Works well. No problems with stolen gas anymore.

Excellent product for the price and with free shipping also. Getting the old one out was a bit of a chore, but installation of this product went very well. Like the way it free turns when locked.

I was having problems with someone messing around on my boat when we were not there. I installed locks on all of the compartments and installed this gas filler which ended the attempts to get my gas. The filler plug, when locked, freely rotates and the plug cannot be remove. Unlocked, it acts like any other plug. You can rotate the plug, when locked, to any position to see when someone has turned it. A really great product. Just what you always get from Perko.
