- The Ignition Distributor is a device in the ignition system. Its function is to get the high-voltage pulse from the coil and supply it to the spark plug. The primary components of the distributor include the rotor and the cap. The distributor cap protects the device’s internal parts and holds contacts between the distributor’s rotor and the spark plug wires. The rotor spins within the distributor, passing current from the ignition coil to the spark plugs in each cylinder of the engine.

DO NOT BUY!!!!!! I thought I was saving money by buying this one. But sadly It lasted less than a year. Your better off spending the $300 and getting a quality part. This was cheaply made and left me stranded when it failed. I repeat DO NOT BUY THIS CHEAP PIECE OF JUNK. Spend the extra money a buy a good one. You dont want to be stranded like me. With no option to get your money back. At least local shops like autozone or advanced auto parts will give you a 1 year or more warranty.
