I am not sure if a genuine Omix-Ada solenoid was sent or not. But I had a second one sent after the first arrived in a nondescript box and the bare metal was not zinc coated as shown in the photo. The second one arrived in the same box and was the same item. Returned both and got one else where.

Exact copy of the one I took off my 86 CJ7. Great value fir the money. So far so good.

This was the second new Omix-Ada starter solenoid that was defective. It melted my ignition control module and cooked my coil on a 1986 JEEP CJ7. Battery current/voltage was coming FROM the “S” and “I” terminals with the ignition in the OFF position.

I will give this 4 stars until I can test for durability/quality. That said it seems fine and is an exact replacement for my CJ-7. I have read many reviews about the quality and quality control from Omix Ada across all products. That said I am not here to debunk or prove any claims. I do however wonder if some of these reviews if claiming have received faulty one are because people are too lazy to disconnect their battery and short the thing out when installing.

It works great. my only complaint is that I have too many wires on the hot side so I ended up stripping some thread trying to squeeze then on there, I ended up soldering some wires together to cut down on bulk and removing the nut at the base of the terminal to free up more thread, so I could still use it but it would be nice to have a solonoid with an extra long hot side terminal.
