Oh wow this stuff is the real deal. I’ve used many different leather conditioners/protectors over the years and this one is honestly the best.
The price is just right, especially considering a little goes a long way. It works better than anything I’ve used before, and left my leather soft, supple, and protected, but with absolutely no sticky or oily residue. Plus, it smells good and also made my hands feeling kinda soft afterwards.
It lasts a LONG time, I applied some on my pocket notebook cover and my one pair of boots over a month ago, and it’s holding up tremendously. Both of these items receive daily, rigorous use and abuse, and they’re both still soft and supple over a month later, no need to reapply yet. The boots still repel water and muck, and when I applied it initially, the leather drank in the conditioning like it just crossed a desert, so I applied a second treatment the next day.
I forgot to snap a photo, but they looked like the equivalent of turning a sun-worn, wrinkly 80 year old sailor into a fresh, baby-faced supermodel. Shiny, rejuvenated, ready for action.
I recommend the Obernauf Heavy Duty LP for all your leather needs. I’ve been steadily applying it to everything I have.
Though I’m not sure about things like couches or car seats, unless given very ample time to dry/absorb, bc I was overzealous and put the notebook cover back on my notebook only about an hour or so after applying the LP, and it left some spotting/moisture marks on the paper it was in contact with. Just a heads up.

I’ve been looking after leather boots for a long time and I’ve used a lot of different products – mink oil, silicone, beeswax, and things that are combinations. I have to say, so far this stuff is the best. Goes on with your hand, works in easy and so far it’s great. Penetrates deep but doesn’t leave the leather greasy, so far it’s lasting longer than my usual beeswax and looks better too. Like all oils it will darken the leather.

Me encanta el producto, deja mis botas excelentes, repele el agua, llego a tiempo el producto, incluso antes de tiempo, y también me gusta que no huele a diésel, súper recomendable

For work boots. It’s darkens the leather slightly. So it’s not for “pretty boots”. But it waterproofs, moisturises and keep hard-working boots from cracking. I went from buying new boots everytime to getting a resole at least once since using this. I am very impressed.

My Wilson double-collar bomber jacket–a $25 find-of-the-decade from the local second-hand store–is like no other jacket I have ever worn. The dark brown leather is soft and supple, to be sure, but it’s the design that makes this jacket irreplaceable: the inner collar that zips up the neck; the double-button cuffs; the durable brass hardware; the ventilated back panel that is cool for late spring, summer evenings, and early fall; and the zip-in liner that has kept me warm for three Northwest winters. It would be heartbreaking to lose it or see it damaged in some way.
So after a few years of wear out in the elements, the rich brown was starting to fade and dry, and I knew I needed to do something. I tried a little Lexol on the back panel. Meh… Darker and more supple, but also a bit “muddy-looking”. Enter Obenauf’s Leather Oil. I didn’t really know what to expect, and I was a little terrified. I mean, I knew from all my reading that it would darken the leather, but I didn’t have much insight into the process.
I gently wiped the oil on, section by section, using the funny little sponge applicator attached to the lid. I spread and massaged the oil in with my bare hands. It wasn’t looking that great. I waited a day and decided that I might as well go for broke; perhaps another light coat would improve things. Afterwards, the jacket just seemed heavy and dark, with an almost oily matte sheen to it. Had I ruined it? Was this leather (calfskin, maybe?) too soft to be using this product? I nervously resolved to hang the jacket in a warm area of the house for a week; if it didn’t improve, I would attempt to machine-wash the ugly oil out using a technique I had found on YouTube.
But Lo! It *did* improve! After about five days the oily sheen had disappeared, and by the end of the week the leather began to look richer than ever before, and I felt like wearing it again. Over the next few weeks the color and texture only improved, and more than a month later it has come to look freakin’ AWESOME.
A month later, emboldened by my experience and now that the weather was turning cooler and wetter, I decided to add some rain-resistance with some Obenauf’s Heavy-Duty LP. I zapped the little container in the microwave for about 15 seconds to soften the wax, and using a hairdryer to warm the jacket, I applied the LP over a selection of panels. One coat, only. The leather darkened a little more. It and my hands smelled like honey. The next day, the surface of the leather had a slightly waxy but still supple feel to it. Water beaded nicely on the surface.
After all of this, I am totally sold on Obenauf’s.

Excellent product for your leather. It has completely revitalized my gloves and has fortified my boots against the snow. Even my 15 year old Ugg slippers have benefited from the stuff. Plus, it feels great on the hands and smells wonderful.

Excellent product! I obtained a leather chair that they had been using Armor-All on, which looked very dry and faded. This product made the chair look brand new, removing the faded/dry marks/lines. I was so impressed, I went out to my car and used it on my leather seats where it was showing wear from getting in and out of the driver’s side. It made the seats look brand new! I will keep this handy for any leather that needs a refresh or reviving.

I used this product obenauf on both of my leather jackets the result was very good the jackets were more supple & they had a lovely leather smell with it. I applied obenauf for a second time to the jackets really pleased with results. Application used was hair drier & soft cloth, l warmed cloth & container to make more manageable then apply to jackets all over I layed them on a flat table to make it easier. I also found that it made my arthritis better in my hand by using the warm cloth.
