Works great for connecting the Noco Genius charger to my Porsche Cayenne.

Finally replaced my original flooded battery in my 2017 Corvette Z06 with a new AGM battery and did not like how hot the OEM Corvette charger got that plugs into the cigarette charging outlet in the rear compartment. Also didn’t like that the OEM charger did not seem to discern between an AGM and flooded battery types. Since I already had a NOCO Genius 5 with the alligator style battery clips, I got this adapter to use with the NOCO. Plugged this cable into my NOCO and into the charging outlet, and the NOCO detected the AGM battery and charged it with no issue and without the charger getting super hot.

After spending an entire afternoon accessing my “emergency backup” hood release I thought this might be a better idea for next time. It worked well and is a great alternative to accessing the battery when you have an electronic hood latch that won’t function (due to a dead battery). I connected mine to a 1.5 amp charger as I did not think the car’s cigarette lighter would support higher voltages (YMMV).

Needed for smart charger on C-8 Corvette. Quality made plugged right in. The complaint from customers with foreign cars makes me feel that the quality of the recepical may be miss sized AND OR WEEK.

This adapter for NOCO 12v battery chargers makes charging a vehicle battery simple and less messy. I can plug this into the cigarette lighter of my vehicle and leave it to do the rest instead of needing to lift the hood and hook-up to the battery terminals.
This doesn’t work for all vehicles – only those where the cigarette lighter stays active when the vehicle ignition is off.

Well made cigarette lighter cable, with inline fuses.
I have several noco products, but I bought this to connect a solar panel to my van — the cigarette lighters are not switched off when the van is powered off, and I don’t drive the van often, so the battery has been running dead over extended time.
This cable is well made, and seems like it will last. I bought an extension cable that attaches to this, cut that in half, and wired it into my solar panel.
The one negative here is that there’s a red LED in the plug — this creates two issues. 1) if the solar panel isn’t producing a lot (bad aiming, shade, winter, etc), then the light is only a net draw. 2) If the cigarette lighter backs out of the socket, the solar panel will still power the red light (and the solar mppt controller will indicate that it has a working circuit drawing power), so it becomes hard to tell at a glance if the circuit is working or not. In fact, on initial installation, it turned out that one of my cigarette lighters had a blown fuse, so even though everything was plugged in and had lights, it wasn’t connected into the van’s wiring.

I got this to keep the battery charged on my 2006 Porsche Cayman S when it is mostly off the road during the winter. I have a series of small NOCO chargers for different motorcycles. I like them and have a few. I thought this adapter might let me use the same charger for the Porsche, through the cigarette lighter-type accessory port in the passenger footwell, without having to wire in a NOCO fitting at the battery. Well, it works great through the port just like I hoped. I route the cable over the doorsill and then close the door on it. Seems to have no issues. I suppose I am putting an indent in the underside of the rubber door seal but I don’t care if it does. When I plug it in I get the pulsing red light for a bit (charging) and by the next day I have green and all is good.
