Amazon Customer –
Swapping this part in for the factory one was not a terrible job. As soon as I started the car after replacing the motor the 4×4 light was gone. Haven’t had a chance to try the AWD, but I see no reason it wouldn’t work and I am perfectly happy that the light is off.

Not the right one according with the specifications on Amazon this parts should have fit my Car.. I ..ordered this part for my 2007 BMW I installed it I test drove my car and the 4×4 light didn’t go away I went and purchase another one at a local warehouse parts and problem solved . I guess I’ve no choice but to keep it

Surprisingly worked well fox X3. Dashboard signals and error codes were gone (few weeks for now). Avoided me replacing the whole transfer case.

I’ve had mixed luck with aftermarket bmw parts but this actuator was a perfect fit. It took about 45min to replace and fixed my 4×4, abs and brake light. You’ll need some 3/8” socket extensions and a bmw socket set for the actuator

This part will not function in your BMW. I had a bad transfer case motor in my 2008 335xi. I purchased this one as it was cost effective. It did not work. So i ordered a replacement. It did not work. After many hours and weeks of replacing 5 control modules and switching back and forth between several transfer case motors and programming and coding each module and relearning motors. I was fed up. Two different shops told me I needed a transfer case and I refused to believe it was true. I went to my local salvage yard. Grabbed a new actuator motor from a low mile 2006 slapped it in my car. Reset control unit. Pressed activate on my scanner and instead of hearing a clunk. I heard the motor spin 5 times. My scanner said calibrated and I was done. This product actually spin the wrong way which was why it made a clunk instead of properly calibrating.
