The spark plug wires, for #1 and #4 cylinders, were too long. I still installed them on my ’08 Outback H-4 non-turbo. It was not as clean as using wires that fit, because they arch up and wave around. I was temped to try cutting them off, but worried that the metal terminal ends wouldn’t turn out well.
May 27, 2022 update: After installing these spark plug wires the engine was misfiring. The Check Engine Light codes were P0302, P0303 and P0304. Meaning that cylinders #2, #3, and #4 were misfiring. I ordered and installed some Subaru OEM wires and the misfires went away immediately.
I don’t think the external shielding on these wires is adequate. I am surprised at the positive feedback on these spark plug wires. Something doesn’t add up here.
