After a few years of annoyance of front driver and passenger windows only rolling down a quarter way before hearing the plastic wheels grinding, I decided to go ahead and replace both motors. Didn’t feel like just replacing the gears and the motors were not much more for the entire assembly. Replacement was a breeze, took about 10 minutes per door and voila, the windows work again without issues. They run smooth and seem to be equally as loud as the OEM ones.
