After buying 2 Bosch rebuilt starters that didn’t work I decided to take a chance on this one. IT WORKS! I did have to make some adjustments to the heat shield to make this one work but the starter functions!
Francesca –
Very happy with the starter! Installed it on my 2003 BMW X5 4.4i

Perfect replacement for X5 4.4i. Saved $700 over the dealer by installing it myself.
Too early to comment on durability but it does the job.
Cobra 2 –
It was a good price and I had a problem initially, the starter wouldnt turn off after I turned the key. But it started on the next turn and havent had a problem since. Its been 4 mths so I’ll update the review in another 4

I had this starter on my 2002 540 from November 2013 until I sold it this past July, and it worked great. I do a lot of driving with many short trips/frequent starts and it worked well.
Suzanne –
I was so happy it came on time, no major install issues, works as it should. Received follow up from company to make sure there were no questions or concerns, very reassuring. Thank you!

This is a great bang for buck replacement for our BMW X5 4.4i starter. The dealer wanted $1100 for a starter replacement, $500 of which was the starter part. I bought this starter and had it installed at a local shop for $200. It does sound different than the OEM starter, but not enough to make me not like it.

So today I finally put the new starter on my E38 and it worked perfect. The price was great, the part arrived quicker than it said on the invoice. Overall I will definitely recommend Discount Starter and Alternator and I will buy from them again.
