Got this to put in my RV. Since we changed to more ‘aggressive’ tires with deeper tread, the factory speedometer isn’t correct anymore. This is an issue whenever you change to a different tire size than the vehicle had originally since automobile speedometers basically just count tire revolutions to determine speed. This is a great solution to that problem and way cheaper than getting your speedometer recalibrated (if that could even be done).
It reacts to speed changes pretty quickly considering it’s using GPS satellites to calculate speed (see video). By my estimate, the speed updates two or three times per second which, to me, is totally fine. The display is crisp and easy to read but not too bright to be a problem at night (at least not for me). I compared it to a speedometer app on my phone, which uses GPS as well, and it was spot on for accuracy.
In addition to my reason for getting it, I can think of some other good uses for this thing as well:
* Your speedometer is broken, and you have no clue how fast you’re driving.
* Adding a speedometer to an ATV or something (it’s USB so it is happy to run off a power bank too).
* Would also work on a boat, even something oar-powered, just don’t get it (or your power bank) wet.
* Could mount it to your bike.
* Go-kart, riding mower, golf cart, run really fast—the possibilities are endless!
It included some double-sided tape for mounting as well. If I were to point out a negative about this type of device (not this one specifically), it is that since it is a GPS-based instrument, it won’t work in tunnels, parking garages, or anywhere else where it can’t get a satellite signal. It is also noteworthy that it comes on with just a ” – – ” on the screen which will quickly change to “0” once it acquires a signal (assuming, of course, you aren’t moving.)
For how low the price is, I would say get it, if for no other reason than it’s fun and you never know when it might come in handy!

I enjoy knowing my speed while driving. This GPS Speedometer is plug and play, making it easy to use. It’s great for driving, though it can be a bit small to see at times. It maintains communication with satellites and responds promptly to speed changes. The display is bright enough for clear visibility. When starting to use it, patience is needed initially due to the delay in getting the GPS signal. It would be ideal if it connected automatically each time I turn on the car.

This unit is off at all speeds variably. Using other GPS items I know to be accurate I was driving at 75MPH and this unit showed me traveling at 80 and 81MPH.
