I have been gathering accessories preparing for my coming iPhone 16. I picked up an Airtag Wallet. So, I ordered a package of 4 Airtags. After ordering the Airtags, I realized that I should have bought these Airtags long ago. My iPad and my iPhone SE already could be used with these Airtags.
I realized that Airtag would need a holder/case not only for protection but for attachment. I have ordered a couple of cases that use wire cables. I plan to use them with my check-in luggage when I travel. I ordered this Nanuk Airtag Holder because of its versatility.
This case is made with an aluminum frame sandwich between two hard plastic halves. The halves are jointed with two screws. It is quite secure but it is not water proof. It comes with a mount that can be stuck using a hook and loop adhesive pad or a 3M double-sided tape. The lanyard could be used to tie this holder to a backpack, laptop bag etc. I have a number of O-rings and S-clips that I could use also. This case is really quite versatile.
For the time being, I am putting an Airtag with this case using only the lanyard in my sling bag. I probably put it in my car when I park in a large parking lot. I have spent my share of wasteful time looking for my car after an event/show/game. If this works out, I am going to use that mount and put it in the car and call it a day.

Good, but too expensive for what it is. Ultimately it has a mostly plastic build, and while I think It is ok, it is not worth the money. I purchased it because it was the same brand as my cases, but it is too expensive for what you get.

My Airtag is still pending, but I know it’ll be easy to put in to the holder.
I’ve already attached this to the inside of my camera backpack, and it stays put.
The several mounting options make it versatile and very user frieindly.

This Nanuk Airtag holder is perfect for anyone looking to protect their Airtag when attaching it to something that might endure rough handling. It’s a very solid holder, featuring a metal frame around a dense plastic compartment where the Airtag is securely placed.
The case offers multiple mounting options, making it highly versatile. It comes with a lanyard for easy attachment to objects with loops or straps, hook-and-loop adhesive strips for quick attachment and removal, and double-sided tape to mount the holder directly onto a fixed surface. This flexibility makes it a great choice for protecting your Airtag on various devices such as luggage, drones, and keys. It is fairly easy to install the Airtag in the holder though installation does require a small Philips head screwdriver.
If you only need basic protection for slipping your Airtag into a bag or luggage, this holder might be more than you need. However, you can rest assured that your Airtag is exceptionally well-protected in this rugged case, making it ideal for more demanding use cases.
The trade-off for the added protection is some bulk. The holder adds significant size to the Airtag, transforming it from a small, sleek disc into a much larger, square-shaped object, especially when using the mounting case. Despite the added bulk, the enhanced protection is worth it for those seeking extra durability.
Retired Old Fart –
I have a few Nanuk hard cases and am generally a fan of their products, with them being every bit as well built as Pelican cases but at a much more reasonable price. With that said, this AirTag holder, while versatile, is a bit of a miss. It comes with a plastic bracket that the AirTag case slides in to, which significantly increases the size of the contraption, however Nanuk includes a couple of double-sided adhesive tap and an adhesive hook and loop (velcro) mount, along with a nice lanyard for using the AirTag case outside of the bracket. It’s a pretty complete package and I really appreciate all the different mounting options.
The AirTag case itself is really just OK. The AirTag slips into a metal shell that has a removable plastic cover securing it inside, but I don’t particularly care for it needing to be screwed shut, but it is quite secure when tightened down. It just seems like a bit of overkill to me but I suppose it does fit considering they make excellent hard protection cases. I don’t need this level of protection for my AirTag, which is somewhat negated by the circular cutouts for RF transmission, but if you do need it I could see how it’s good to have. I also thought the metal portion of the case looked a bit cheap since it was left unfinished and had scratches on it out of the packaging. I would still recommend the product if you need the versatility of mounting options or the added protection but in my case, I would prefer a less bulky and perhaps more attractive option, which I hope they rectify in the next product revision.
