Extending the leveling jacks on a motorhome without jack pads works just fine on concrete or most asphalt, or even on well packed gravel. However, extending them on a soft surface or even on a layer of gravel over a soft clay surface results in the pads extending down below ground level and can turn the small disc on your leveling jacks into cereal bowls (I know from experience).
I’ve tried using wooden blocks, but they tend to split. After many failed attempts at the cheap solution, I decided to get these pads. I’ve not regretted that decision.
Although they’re heavy, they have carrying cords that make it relatively to pick them up. They stack easily and fit into the back of my Jeep tow vehicle.
Once, on a soft asphalt surface, the jack caused one of the pads to deform slightly, but noticeably — turning the flat surface into a very shallow and smooth curve. I spent two nights at that campground and noticed the deformation when I pulled the jacks up to leave. By the time I arrived at the next campground, that pad was completely flat again. Realize that if I had lowered my jacks onto that soft asphalt without a ancillary pad, the disc on my leveling jacks would have dug into the asphalt and would likely have been deformed.

I’ve used a set of cheaper plastic jack pads which only lasted a couple of seasons. While these are heavy, these have shown no signs of wear after a full season of use. Well worth the price.

This review is strictly my first impression when I removed them from the box. None of the issues that I mention actually happened. Everything is from previous experience with other products. Hopefully, these do a better job than the other products that I’ve used.
These are made of polyethylene (hard plastic). The seem like they are sturdy, but they look like they have absolutely zero “give” or flex to them. Maybe this will become important, or maybe not. Time will tell. My fear is that when I place these on uneven ground where there is a void underneath, that they will not flex and possibly quickly break in half, or possibly over time with constant flexing, will crack and break. I haven’t seen this happen, but that was my first impression. I’ll update my review in a year or so to either confirm or refute my suspicions.
The other thing that jumped out at me was that the surface is not very rough. It is kind of smooth. I bought these for under my 5th wheel leveling jacks. The bottom of the jacks are smooth steel. My fear is that if I am on a sloped camp site, where these pads are at an odd angle to the jack rather than at a perfect 90 degrees, that the jack plate might slip on this pad as I am trying to level the trailer, or later when we are walking around inside causing the trailer to flex, move, and bounce, they might slip. IDK. Maybe my fear is unwarranted, but I would have preferred if this pad had a rough surface with some “grip” to it. Similarly, when I am on uneven campsites, I will be using a pad extender made by Anderson ( https://www.amazon.com/ANDERSEN-Accessories-Stabilizers-Jackstand-Quickjack/dp/B0754NWJGR/ref=dp_fod_1?pd_rd_i=B0754NWJGR&psc=1 ). These are also plastic with a smooth bottom surface. So now I will have 2 slick plastic surfaces mated to one another. On level ground, there shouldn’t be a problem, but on sloped ground, it could be a huge problem. 15000 pounds sliding off a pad is not good and could become very expensive when a hydraulic jack bends or mounting brackets break. I will probably paint everything with a safety tread paint or maybe apply sticky backed safety tread tape to everything to get the grip that I am looking for. This should solve the problem.
My last concern is again related to the hard plastic. If I am parked on gravel or limestone (like you would find in many residential driveways and at some campgrounds), these will be pressing down on hard, uneven, and possibly sharp stone. Several thousand pounds pressing down on a sharp edge or point is almost guaranteed to do damage. It may not be much damage, but you do it multiple times, and eventually the bottom will probably be filled with indents or possibly start to crack or have pieces chip off. If I am parked on concrete, asphalt, grass, dirt, or sand there should not be a problem since there will be a mostly smooth or even surface for these to lay on. I am going to find a thin rubber pad to place under these to eliminate that problem. I might even glue the thin rubber pad to both sides of these pads to get the “sharp object” protection and “extra grip” protection that I am looking for. IDK yet.
If you use these on any smooth and level driveway, none of what I mentioned should ever be an issue. These look very sturdy. But, if you camp where conditions are not ideal, give some thought to everything I mentioned above.

Excellent product. I have 8 of these pads for a reason…..they work and are strong. Fairly lightweight and easy to carry/move with the handle. You never know when you will need these pads…..we use them all of the time with our 5th wheel. I like these a bunch!

Sturdy product perfect for my RV

We use these for our 33k lbs Motorhome. The pads are larger and rated for heavier RVs than the standard RV pads. We like to place pads under the leveling jacks to reduce how far the jacks need to extend. We find this helps with leveling, adds stability, and are told it’s better for the jacks.
