    1990 Volvo 240 base

This part was in my car for less than a mile, and the shake came back…

So I did the transmission mount, which is just in front of it in the driveline. The mount improved the thud about 70%… but it’s still there.

If a component is made to give some flex, but not much… it should be hard rubber. When you held the old Volvo OEM rubber in one hand, and this piece of junk in the other, the OEM part weighed significantly more. So much so you could tell without scales. It made me skeptical, but I still went ahead with the install due to necessity… It was a mistake.

Now I have a part that barely can do what it’s supposed to, and the weak rubber is bound to go way quicker than the OEM ***FROM 1991 AND STILL ON THE CAR**** version.

If you are thinking about getting this part, don’t unless you want to use it as a stop-gap while you save for the genuine Volvo part… which I am now doing.

Conclusion: crap part, made of cheap rubber, and will probably do more damage to your driveline than good, in all likelihood… considering you have to drop a balanced RWD driveline every time you replace one.

This has worked well on my Volvo 240 so far. Make sure you’re addressing all of the possible driveline problems when trying to remedy odd driveline sounds or vibrations, including u-joints and the main bearing. I put this on when installing a new driveshaft main bearing and front u-joint. It’s construction and weight seemed rather similar to the 27-year-old Volvo one I removed.
