I specifically paid more for what is supposed to be the OEM blade but it doesn’t make proper contact with the glass, so it was a waste of money.

Exactly what you’d expect from Motocraft.

Exact replacement for 2011 Ford Explorer. I don’t know what else this fits: do your due diligence. Not easy to replace, but I got it done. Instructions will get you through it, but if you have no patience, you might want to get someone who does to replace this for you. 🙂 As much grime as gets on the rear window of the Explorer, I’ll probably replace this blade annually, even if I stretch the front blades to 2-year duty cycle.

The original WW-1106 on my 2018 Explorer used a straight in connection to the wiper arm. Most Youtube instructions will show using a flat head screwdriver to push out the old wiper blade. Ford replaced WW-1106 with WW-1109 which is identical except for how it attaches to the wiper arm.
The new WW-1109 must push in, and then slide to lock in place. At first I tried pulling the wiper arm toward the passenger side to lock it in place, but it didn’t seem to want to work. So I flipped the blade and this time pushed on it toward the shaft and it clipped right in. Make sure that the blade pivots freely on its own tiny shaft when you lift the arm assembly. If it seems jammed, then it has not locked in place! With the way I installed it, I need to pull the blade away from the shaft to release it from its pin.
This is complicated because there’s no easy way to tell how it was install and someone might just force it straight out thinking it was the old WW-1106.
Ford was dumb to have changed the design like this.
