I was not pleased with this product. When installed and locked into position, I noticed that it could be flexed up and down on the distributor. I ran it for a while and had a misfire that I couldn’t track down. I removed the part and compared it to the one I had replaced. The old one was much thicker and stronger than the new part. Put the old one back on and the misfire was gone. I could not flex the old one at all when it was on the distributor. I always try to use Motorcraft parts when I work on the pickup (’89 F150). I have also heard that there are a lot of Chinese knock-offs that will print Motorcraft boxes so that they can get the premium price for their cheap crap. I’m convinced that this part is not genuine Motorcraft.

I was concerned this would be a fake replica. But was surprised it says “Motorcraft” on the cap- just like it’s pictured! This is really hard to find even from FORD. If it didn’t say “Motorcraft” I would have returned it.

Cap works fine, replace with a more expensive MSD cap that caused a misfire so put the ford motorsport cap back on and the car is running good again

I don’t like the gray much and the plastic seems flimsier than the original black cap. However, it seems to work correctly, which is really all that matters.

Needed an inexpensive cap for a ford MSD billet distributor to phase in the rotor. Since you have to cut a big hole in the cap, (for the rotor phasing process) it is important not to have to pay MSD prices for said cap.
this cap worked fine for the application and did not cost an arm and a leg.

They are very long lasting and in the case of these priced very reasonable. This is for my 1995 5.8 F150 . 2 to 3 days shipped and package well .
