This complete clay bar kit is the one of best solution to remove all the contaminants. Since my car is white, it had tar marks and insects deposit all over it. If you’re detailing your car, I feel this is the best product. Use it with instant detailer and it just removes all the dirty contaminants from your car making the paint smooth as glass to touch. Takes time and effort but surely makes a difference to the paint.

Works like magic! I live in Chicago and was a victim of the “L-Juice”, which are creosote drippings from the trains for people foolish enough to park under the tracks. It is impossible (or so I thought) to get off. Car wash did nothing and neither did goo-gone, and I didn’t want to use anything harsh to avoid stripping the paint off my car. This lubricant and clay got off the tar with laughably little effort. What could have been a thousand dollar+ issue was rectified in 20 mins and twenty bucks. Before and after pictures show how well it worked, the creosote doesn’t come off with fingernails, dish soap, or goo gone, but rubbed right away with the clay.

I am an instant fan, works as the package says and leaves the car surface clean and shiny like new. Will purchase again and recommend to anybody wanting to look after their car. I clean my own vehicle so see what industrial fall out can do. This removed mine easily.

This was my first time claying my vehicle. I will say that it does what it says: I tried it on a small part of my car to test it out, and it certainly smoothes the rough, presumably contaminated surface. You can hear and feel the crunchy layer being lifted away, and the paint is returned to a like-new slickness. The process also seemed to make for a much nicer finish after waxing. Count me as another believer in the power of clay.

If I were you, reading this review and wondering if this is the right purchase for your first-time claying (I must have spent several hours Googling and browsing Amazon for info; I know what you’re going through), I would want to be told this: Buy a separate clay bar, and use soapy water for lubricant. Use the saved money to buy a nice bottle of car wash.

At first I was hesitant to use soapy water instead of the detailer spray that came with it, but after some research I discovered that many professional detailers use soapy water (there are YouTube vids with professionals using soap suds for claying). I even did a test at first, using soapy water on one area and the detail spray on another, and the clay process worked just as well with soap (or auto shampoo, rather). Just be sure the water is very sudsy and constantly applied. I wound up using the Showtime spray to clay about half the car, and I nearly used up the entire bottle. Maybe I used too much, but I only sprayed enough to cover the surface (a 2010 Accord), and with something like this I figure too much lubricant is better than too little. Detailing spray isn’t exactly expensive, but using the spray instead of soap could easily result in adding $5-$10 to the task. If it offered better performance over soapy water, that would be one thing, but it doesn’t seem to.

Before washing the car I tried using the spray alone as a detailer on a lightly dusty surface, and it cleaned well. I wish I had just used soapy water for the entire clay process and saved the detail spray for its original purpose. In that sense, this kit is probably a nice value along with the microfiber cloth (also pretty nice quality). I can’t comment on the quality of the clay bar since it’s the only one I’ve used. It was soft and didn’t fall apart. I didn’t see the huge amount of contaminants on the bar like you see in some customer photos (hardly any, really, but maybe my contaminants were of the transparent sort), but it definitely had an impact on surface smoothness.

It was a good learning experience and good value considering everything it comes with. However, in the future I’ll buy a separate clay bar. Mothers does sell the bar separately, also, and reviews seem to suggest its quality is competitive.

After reading the reviews and also using this product before I ordered it again. It comes with spray liquid and 2 bars . Instructions are inside and if your not sure on use just view it on YouTube. It will take away grime etc. in the paint finnish . The bars are gold colored and you use just a small piece an glide it on your car in sections along with spray liquid. After your finnished car is amazing looking an shiny and smooth to touch. You need to follow up right after with a good auto wax of your choice to seal the work of this product. It will last a good few months time depending how you store your auto either garaged / covered or outside. I would reccomend buying , using this product again . No scratching , easy to use , good name product can be used proffesionally or homeowner too.

I was skeptical of this product, especially after my neighbor, a car fanatic, warned me never to use it. But after extensive research I learned that this seemed to be the stuff that everyone who was serious about maintaining their car’s finish raved about, so I decided to give it a shot. I’m really glad I did because after using it, my car’s finish looks like it did on the showroom floor. (I later found out my neighbor used it incorrectly – without the spray lubricant).

My three primary concerns were: 1) it would damage or abrade the finish, 2) it would peel up the paint, and 3) it would be difficult and a pain to use. Not only did this product not harm my car’s finish in any way, but it REALLY WORKED! And best of all, it required minimal effort – it’s much easier than taking off paste wax. After a few passes with the rubbing spray and the clay bar (you use them together) all the contaminants on the surface were gone. You could literally see old, stubborn road tar and tree sap flecks – blackened from years of sunlight – disappearing with each swipe. You want your car’s paint to feel as smooth as the windshield – this product is how you get that.

Just follow the directions. Use the spray that comes with it. Plain water doesn’t cut it. Also, don’t be afraid to use a little elbow grease to get some of the more stubborn containments up; as my confidence grew using the product, I realized I could use moderate pressure to work on the most heavily soiled areas and the bar did not harm the surface in any way. And while the package says it’s good for several uses, I’d consider each bar a single-use item. It comes with two bars, and after the first one I’d say I used about half the spray anyway. But this is not something you’ll need to do but maybe once a year (unless you consistently park under trees), so I don’t consider getting two applications out of a single product purchase too shabby.

One final caveat: you should wax your car immediately after using this. I used regular old Turtle Wax T-223 Super Hard Shell Paste Wax – 9.5 oz. and then followed it up with a coat of Turtle Wax T-465 ICE Paste Polish – 8 oz.. These products together worked beautifully.

Overall, a great product. It does what it says it does and it’s easy to use. Can’t ask for more than that!

Used a clay bar for the first time and it was much easier than I thought it would be. Likely run out of spray before I run out of clay. Make sure you do the lower area of vehicle last as that is where you will get the most impurities.
