Ordered the 1″ version thinking I was getting a 40 series torque converter because that’s how I searched. This one was the cheapest as most 40 series convertors were well over 100$. What showed up at my door was a standard 30 series with a 1″ drive pulley and a belt that I’ve used prior and it struggles with a 212. Im not sure how this will work or if I should just order a clutch until I can afford a 40 series. I don’t have a lot of faith that this will hold up to a 301. It really should be listed as a 30 series with a 1″ drive

missing jackshaft nut and bolts were wrong thread, first won’t fit my honda gx340 but it bolted right up to a predator 212cc just have to get a 3/4 driver pulley and that missing nut, other than that it’s a good product

I bought this to put on a Predator 301CC, 8 HP engine for a go-cart. I liked the product. Shipped fast, arrived in good condition. Had a couple of issues with install. When mounting the backing plate, the oil fill hole was in the way, so I had to replace the dip-stick with a plug and grind it down until the holes would line up to bolt it on. Not a big deal. Also though, the bolt that came with it to secure the drive pulley to the engine shaft was to small. Also not a big deal, but to use the collar that came with it I had to drill the hole bigger to accommodate the larger bolt. All in all though I’m happy with my purchase. Side note, I didn’t use the cover, but I hear there’s a little modifying to do to that too.

It is a 1″ shaft so it will fit a predator 301. But…. The drain plug hits the plate so I had to plug the oil filler below the valve cover with a 20mm coarse thread bolt and cut off a 1/4 inch of the crank case filler. Then the bolt that holds the clutch pulley on is too small you need a 7/16 fine thread (I had to drill and re-tap mine deeper). The bushing that the bolt goes through to hold the clutch will not work with the larger 7/16 so it has to be drilled out. Then the bushing is too deep so I had to grind an 1/8 off the back so it would seat against the clutch pulley (you could use a 1″ washer). The backing plate for the clutch pulley will not slide far enough down the crank shaft to line up with the driven pulley so I had to grind the inner part where the key is built into the interior to. allow it to slide farther down the crank shaft. Once this was done the spacers will not fit. Washers easily fix this. The clutch springs are to stiff and did not engage. I changed them to (blue) comet springs I had. The driven pulley spring was very weak as well I changed it to a (yellow) comet spring as well. It was still not quite right so I changed the cheap belt and bam, its right on par with a comet. I had the springsand belt so the bolts only cost me about $15. If you had to buy the springs that’s another $40. New belt $10. If you have the tools and time it’s a cheaper option, but it took me about 4 hours start to finish in a fairly well equipped garage shop.

In order for this tc to fit on the predator 301 motor you have to do som modding. I had to cut down the back oils cover and put some jb weld on it and it fit on good. I’ve already did a few trail rides and this tc went up every steep hill with no problems. I’d buy it again. Side note: don’t use the cheap belt it comes with. To small and looks poorly made. Order yourself some comet belts.youll thank me later😎🏍⚒

Product arrived undamaged and with instructions. Straight forward installation and overall took about 15 minutes after slight engine modifications (cutting the top of the oil plug). I tried to initially attach this torque converter to a Honda GX270, but the space between the cooling fins and oil plug was insufficient, even after I cut the top of the oil plug. However, I was able to install it onto a Briggs and Stratton 1150. I needed to cut the top of the oil plug, but was able to mount it to the back (carburetor end as opposed to the fuel tank end) of the motor. It has held up to the 11.50 ft./-Pounds of torque on a two-seater go cart with 18 in rear wheels for 2 days. I will add a comment if it fails.
