Worked great. Installed these on the rear of my 2001 Chevy Tahoe, It had the zw7 smooth ride shocks and were wore out with 260 k miles. Rear end was starting to lean to the right and ride was horrible but I didn’t want to spend the outrageous price for the factory style shocks (nivomat). I did a little research and found these Moog springs and added a set of rear Bilstein shocks and worked perfect. Install was easy and the ride is great. It lifted the rear about 2 inches which gave it a slight rake but nothing dramatic but it’s also a 2wd so the front doesn’t sit as high as a 4×4 model. Will update how it does after I pull my boat next season but I suspect it will do just fine. Note: Amazon had the best price on the springs and Bistein shocks and shipping was super fast.

The springs on my 09 Tahoe were shot. Wheel opening on drivers side 5.5 inches from tire to fender, 4 inches on pass side. Installed these now 7 inch clearance both sides. Install time about 2 hours. Plenty of videos on youtube. Make sure to use new lower spring pads because they are usually beat up and you don’t want metal to metal. Ride is a little more stable with less rear sway. Install by jacking up both sides of car until rear tires are off ground, springs are extended and loose in the pocket. Place jack stands on frame rails. The items needed to be removed are wheels, lower shock bolts (use jack under rear differential to remove pressure from shocks and sway bar links) sway bar links upper bolts, wheel speed cable from frame rail so as not to break it, and bolt from brake line bracket on top of rear end.

    Quality was good, fit perfect

These are great hd coil and greatly improved the over all ride and towing ability of my escalade. They are the best bang for your buck available and are fairly easy to install. Don’t let fitment guide fool you these will fit on escalades that do not have autoride/air ride systems.

Well build, high quality happy with the install.

Perfect fit, easy install and my truck has a great stance now. I removed my factory 17 year old worn out springs and garbage air shocks (which I replaced 3 years ago and they’re shot again). Jacked the back of the truck up a little; removed both shocks and disconnected the sway bar links. Jacked the truck up higher. Pulled the springs out by hand. Placed the new springs in, lowered the truck down a little. Installed a set of Billstein 5100 shocks and bolted the sway bar links back up. Tucked away the air and electrical connections for the old air shocks. Lowered the Jack all the way down. Deleted the autoride by disconnecting the battery negative, pulling the RTD fuse and reconnecting the battery.
I got a full two inches by doing this and now my 285/75/r16 (33”) tires look perfect. Stance is great. The ride is AMAZING. No more mushy bouncy ride. It’s not harsh at all, just firm. Handles great, on the road and in the woods. The ridiculous compressor doesn’t randomly kick on and I don’t get any lights on the dash- because I properly deleted autoride. No problema. Highly recommended. If you have a vehicle equipped with autoride and are afraid of it, don’t be.

This spring is the equivalent of the one used on the Tahoe/Suburban/Yukon “Z71” packages. This gives you about and extra 1” lift from a measurement standpoint on a suburban. To my knowledge this is the only Heavy Duty spring you can get without getting into increased suspension lift. Air bags are another option if you want to deal with it. The LS, LT and other models use a softer spring that is a bit wider in the coil configuration and less coils overall. This 81609 has a tighter coil package and the steel coil is thicker, I want to say the standard coil is 5/8 and this one is 3/4 . A tahoe/trailblazer website discussion forum has details/pics on it if you wish to search the web for further details.

Install is pretty simple on a suburban, disconnect lower shock bolt and sway bar bolt holding axle. Jack frame of vehicle up high enough to pull old spring out and insert the new spring. Reverse order of putting everything back together… Keep an eye on the rubber brake lines while you jack up the vehicle that you don’t put too much tension on them that they rip apart. They will get tight so be careful on how high you raise the vehicle during this process. If you don’t know what I’m talking about go somewhere and have it done for you. I’m not liable for the instructions I’m providing.

Comfort of ride did not change in my vehicle,, maybe not as of a spongy ride,, but really hard to feel any difference. Definitely did not provide a harsh ride afterwards. My use was for mainly for towing so I wanted the ride height of the vehicle to hold the trailer tongue weight better than the stock softer coils.

…it was delivered within a week (to Germany) and they had no visible damage, they looked brand new.
They lifted my stock Tahoe (03) about 2 inches, cranking the stock front torsion keys to maximum makes the truck sitting 2 inches higher and leveled.
    I’d recommend!

when looking form springs for my 02 Yukon XL the springs shown said they would fit using the filters provided by Amazon. And in watching You Tube videos it was supposed to be an easy swap. I did have a picture of the springs side by side on my phone. However, this is a revised statement. The spring shown is at least 4in taller and 6.5 around, old spring is 8 in. and shorter. I sent them back and ended up getting more expensive version. Let’s hope they fit, using the same filters.

  10. 5G4R

Must have for the suburban. Originally deleted the factory rear air shocks and springs and put in the Moog 81071 springs. Rode much better but still squatting under any load. These HD springs are slightly stiffer but handle loads much better. Both pictures are with 500# of payload. Install can be a bit tricky as you need to lift the body fairly high to get the taller springs in.
No spring compressor needed just unbolt the rear sway bar and shocks and Jack up from the lowest hanging part of the frame.
