This is a standard replacement wheel hub assembly, Timken seems hit or miss and I have had good luck with them. This bearing installed just fine, but has started to make noise.
Moog has a 3 year warranty on these and a quick chat with Amazon for warranty help got me a return slip and a refund.
So this is much cheaper than the parts store, and painless return if you have issues. Of course, I’d love to not have to deal with the return, but this is the best you can expect.
Cue Tip –
Fit my ’09 Outback without any problems, seems well constructed, totally worth the money. My ride is much quieter now.

2008 Subaru Legacy, no ABS issues before and none after replacement. I removed and cleaned my ABS sensors with electrical contact cleaner that was safe for use with plastic. Remove the sensors from the steering knuckle and keep them tied up so they don’t get damaged.
Watch Mr Subarus video on YouTube and follow his steps. You can replace the bearings without removing the CV axle, from the steering knuckle, but it’s a heck of a lot easier if you do! If you’re in the rust belt, rent a hub puller like the one O’Reilly Auto Parts has, huge time and frustration saver.
Be sure to bend the dust shield back away from the brake rotor when you’re done or it’ll rub and you’ll be wishing you had do e so before putting the tire on.

UPDATE: Appears to be failing now. Contacted both manufacturer and seller and have heard crickets. No one has reached out to resolve this complaint. Received an email saying someone would get back to me shortly and that was over a month ago.
Needed to replace front wheel hub in my Outback. Purchased this item and brought it to my local tire shop, since I had to replace the tires at the same time. They installed this product for me at the same time as the tires. Been installed for several months and no issues yet.

Price was fair. Good quality. Install not bad once Subaru started using these bolt-on unit bearings instead of the older style that needed to be pressed out of the spindle. CV shaft does NOT need to be removed for this install.

Replaced both Fronts of an ’08 Outback with MOOG 513220’s. Parts had good casting and quality control. Smooth action. Wheel Studs were well cut and clean. Part installed easily. OEM Drop-in replacement. Be sure to read the three PDF’s provided by Moog on Diag, Install, and possible issues. Ensure that the Knuckle is free of rust and surfaced before completing assembly, or you may experience ABS/Cruise-Control issues.
Plan to have a few Cold-Chisels of various size to pry the hub-assembly off. You’ll also need to purchase new axle nut(s) for each one you remove. Genuine Subaru Nut 902170049 (For the Legacy; Check compatibility first) You’ll need to “stake” the nut, or peen it over, as it doesn’t use a cotter-pin.
You’ll have to remove the wheel, have an assistant hold the brakes to crack the axle nut loose, caliper and caliper bracket, rotor, and finally the four bolts holding the hub assembly on in that order.
**Torque Specs (For OB/Legacy Platform):**
– Hub-to-Knuckle Bolts: 47.9 ft-lb
– Front Axle Nut: 162 ft-lb
– Lug Nuts: 81.1 ft-lb (all)
– Caliper Bracket-to-Knuckle: 59 ft. lbs.
– Caliper Retainers: 19 ft. lbs.
– Rotor shield: 10 ft. lbs.
– Ensure that the Hall Effect Sensor is clean. Wipe it with a clean rag. Brakleen shouldn’t hurt it, but use a dry rag if you’re worried. Brakleen did not hurt my sensors.
– After removing the hub assembly, you need to surface and clean the rust off the “Knuckle”.
I hope this helps.

Fit and appearance seem excellent, but I have had that with other brands that didn’t last until the next oil change? This one has made it to an oil change, so that is a bit positive! I will update if things change.

Perfect fit easy to install. 2005 Outback. Silky feeling and no issues, but only 5k miles at this point
Edit: over 30k miles without a thought, these are working for me. I used to be in the auto parts business, in my father’s shop, we only carried top quality parts, and I worked with dozens of independent mechanics..
Cutting to the chase, Moog used to be made in the US and the quality was stellar. Now that these are made offshore I am a bit less confident but they have never let me down. I do trust that the execs and engineers do not want to flush a great reputation that I have been aware of for 55 years, but If I start having problems, I’ll let the world know

I replaced both of my front wheel bearings on my 2005 Subaru Legacy GT with these MOOG ones. They came undamaged and packaged well. I’m not sure if they were machined or casted, but they are a beautiful product. If you are looking for a warranty with these, you can buy them from auto zone and pay an extra $90 for 3 years, otherwise they come with a one year manufacture warranty. My left one was replaced about 3 months ago with no problems to report, and my right one was replaced on September 23rd with no problems to report yet. These are more expensive then other options, but the quality is unmatched. If you are a do it yourself person looking to replace the wheel bearing on your car, I highly recommend going to a local car parts store to rent a wheel hub or bearing removal tool. Most stores rent for free and the tool makes the removal process a breeze. Don’t forget to buy a new axle nut if you are replacing a hub on a all wheel drive car!

I’ve put about 15k miles on my car since installing it and it’s working great so far
