Like the other reviews before me, replacing the whole assembly is WAY BETTER and SAFER than any other approach. I like life way too much to be risking removing the spring from the assembly. I would not try that on a bet. I used this kit on my 2003 Ford Focus ZX3 about a year and 20,000 miles ago, and it it still works great. Highly recommended !

Item for the vehicle as expected however within two months became very noisy and squeaky.

One negative I have is that one of the top mounting knurled bolts had to be pulled in as it was not attached.
This is a manufacturing QC issue.
The other is that Monroe does NOT pack this product with intent to be shipped as it’s just dropped in their box.
This resulted in a bent brake line clip. Not a big deal though in this situation.

Rides like new pulled out old strut and put in this new one a exact fit!!

I bought a set of these Strut Assemblies for a 2002 Ford Focus ZX3 which had a broken spring. Installation was relatively easy after watching a good YouTube video on the steps. The vehicle now rides like new again, albeit a little like a Buick at first. The springs have since settled down after a week of driving and now feel like “normal”. The price on pair of these struts saved me over $40 from where I could get them locally, and hundreds of dollars on installation on what a shop would charge.

Easy to install. The only difficulty I had on my 2005 Ford Focus was the brake lines didn’t want to seat properly in the retaining clips the way they did on the OEM struts. It wasn’t really much of a problem… just a little bending, and they went in. The ride and handling is great now. I had never changed struts before, and these quick-struts seem to be the way to go if you don’t mind spending a little extra money to not have to worry about spring compressors and all that hassle.

Monroe tells you to get hold of Amazon for their warranty and they want a $13.00 stalking fee when you bought a lifetime warranty part. It is no help and no support i have been in the business for 30 years and have never seen this read the warranty now if you buy from amazon they don’t warranty yet Amazon still sells crap buy the manufacturer now in china WOW DON’T BUY!!!

At 175k miles I figured I replace my struts, one already had a bearing that was failing. Strut came with all necessary hardware, just re use the pinch bolt. Installation was a breeze, disconnect tie rod, sway bar to strut end link, and unhook the ABS cord and brake line. I sprayed PB blaster on the strut pinch bolt and around where the strut mated with the knuckle the day before removal.
Tools you will need are: 15mm socket, 14mm socket, allen socket set in metric, breaker bar, ratchet with extentions, hammer, and a pry bar or cold chisel.
Strut is Assembled in USA and appears to be of good quality.
Fit my 2001 Ford Focus Zetec

Perfect fit for my ’03 Focus. I didn’t realize how bad the ones I took off were until I drove on these.
