Perfect fit for a 04 toyots 4 runner v8 rear

With the bottom rubber snug up against the bottom of the frame and the upper rubber and washer on the shaft, there was not enough thread exposed to thread the nut. On one side, I had to use the old rubber. On the other side, I had to cut the rubber ridges and turn the washer upside down to start to thread the nut onto the shock’. The shocks were a fraction of an inch too short for a 2004 4runner. These needs to be reinstalled. Why sell a wrong-sized shock and greatly inconvenience the customer just to make a buck and tarnish a name brand? The seller/manufacturer ignored me, never responding to the problem.

My FJ Cruiser rides much smoother now.
The front was a bit of a chore for one person to put on. It would have went on easier had I initially done what was suggested on the Internet which was removing the stabilizer bar. After one day of struggle, I removed the skid plate and stabilizer bar and all went well.
I was a bit confused about the rear shock since they sent one less washer than what was on the truck. I phoned Monroe (great tech support!), he explained that they did not use the extra wash and it would be fine without it. The rear shocks required me to cut the top bolt of the shock off since the nut would not budge. I used a reciprocating saw which made pretty short work of it.

Fit my 2015 4Runner came as ordered and on time. Only thing was one box was open and the mounting hardware was missing. Had to use the rubber and the washer and nut from the old one.

Great value for most part buying the used set but one of 2 came missing all the hardware. Bushings and washers.

My car had that bogus automatic leveling system that is very prone to failure. I removed the bags and replaced with a spring kit. The existing shocks were weak so I replaced with these. Parts catalogs don’t show standard shocks for the Lexus but a bit of research found that my vehicle is built up on the Toyota 4Runner chassis. Yep, perfect fit! Now I have a nice smooth ride again…..and both cost me slightly less than the price of the same shock at a local national parts store.
