This is the best price I found anywhere. I received two different production runs. One made in the U.S. and the other made in Mexico. Other than minor cosmetic differences they work the same. They certainly do their job when there is a load on-board or when pulling a trailer. The shocks have made a huge difference in ride and drive-ability. Before I installed these, the rear tires would hop around curves and would scare the petunias out of me when going interstate speed, but these solved the problem.

Rides great, we still had the factory shocks from 2005 on our Chrysler Town Country with a tow package. It made a HUGE difference in the ride quality and the price is half of what the dealer charges for the parts. took 30 minutes, no hassles, very happy. Thank you!

While these are expensive, they are a lot cheaper here than purchasing them local. They are the exact replacement for our 2004 Dodge Grand Caravan with trailer package option. Since new, the left rear of our van has always seemed lower than the right when viewed from the back. The dealer replaced the spring under warranty, but that didn’t seem to fix it, so I lived with it. After replacing the shocks, the rear is now level.
Note that when replacing the shocks, the included instructions are wrong. They are not shipped compressed and locked. The instructions state to rotate the top counter clockwise to unlock and expand. Well, that didn’t work so I called Monroe. The tech looked it up and told me that these are not shipped compressed and locked.
Replacing them isn’t that difficult – jack up rear, remove tire, support rear axle (since it has leaf springs, you want it compressed, not free hanging like if it had springs), and then remove the upper and lower bolts. But, it you live in the rust belt, be prepared for stubborn bolts. On mine, the top one wasn’t bad, but the bottom required an impact wrench to remove (18mm socket, I believe).
The ride quality is improved greatly after replacement of these and the front struts. It’s almost back to factory new. The van has 215k miles on it and I do a fair amount of hauling and towing, so they were probably overdue for replacement.

Before purchasing, I had seen some discussions about whether or not the Monroe shock was actually produced by Sachs and just relabled by Monroe. Well, I got my answer when it arrived. The shock had a Monroe and Sachs label (see pic above). They also look identical to the OEM Chrysler shocks, so it’s a pretty good guess that Sachs makes the shocks for Chrysler as well. As far as Nivomat shock options go, this was the most cost effective solution. A local auto parts place wanted $321 for the same exact shock. I don’t know about you, but saving over $100 per shock and over $200 for the pair was a big deal for me.
I paired these with the Monroe quick struts on our 2002 Town and Country. I will say that the van rides pretty darn nice now at 85K miles. Just don’t make the same mistake I did and order the wrong shocks the first time. I think I was in denial that these were the right ones for our van. If you aren’t sure, just inspect your rear shocks before ordering. If your existing ones look like they are as big around as baseball bats, you can bet they are Nivomats. If they are skinny, you got lucky.

Worked well as a replacement to the Sachs shocks in the van initially, but after 2 years and 30,000 miles on them the drivers side sits about 1/2 inch lower and the back and is a little bouncy on that side so one is shot already. This is with standard driving and no towing. Given Amazon’s price, even if I have to buy another one from them I’ll still come out slightly ahead of what the local auto parts stores wanted for a set.

Shockers replaced old ones easily. Had problem replacing leaf spring bushings because of rust. Shocks raised level of van a full two inches! What a great invention!
