Excellent filter….very good price! Have used these for many years. I always use with Mobil 1 synthetic oil. No point in spending the extra money for these if you are using non-synthetic oil…..but I assume you already know this!
re-man –
yup they’re official mobil 1 filters

I’m finally convinced that Mobile 1 EP can actually go a year in a car without any repercussions. I think it’s a great idea, it saves time, it saves money and it saves the environment. A once a year 45 dollar oil change is very attractive and I’ve done it for the first time ever from last year to this year. Great ideas, great products coming out of Mobile 1 but I’ve got one gripe. When I received the filters, the packaging was fine for shipping but the Mobile 1 filter packaging needs more for a high end product. For consumer confidence I would have liked the outside box to be shrink wrapped and the filter to have a safety seal like other high end filters. So instead of a clean pitch black gasket and a clean interior of the oil filter I have to clean it by blowing out the packaging cardboard dust from inside of the filter, I also have to clean out the gasket (even though I pre-grease it anyways, this is an extra step) with some oil before I install it on my car. Perhaps I am just nitpicking but it would make a lot more sense because I would pay the few extra cents for a high end product that came in high end packaging. Otherwise this product would have easily received 5 stars but because I have this little nagging tick annoying me (are all the cardboard particles out of the filter?)I won’t lose sleep but I’ll think about it sometimes, why? Because we all want what’s best for our cars, we want the best performance and we want our cars to last. Just my two cents.

They seem to do the job they were designed to do. I don’t let them go the full length of service but a bit shorter as I try to get the added protection they give in picking up more debris in the engine. I almost always change the filters half way between oil changes just to keep things cleaner as they are cheap and easy to change in a few minutes and add the small amount of oil to bring the level to the full mark on the dipstick and check for leaks as usual. Cheap security and peace of mind. They are good quality!
Thanks,
John

I did a LOT of research before deciding on Mobil 1 oil and filters. I find them to be excellent quality and the best protection I cab buy for my car. Sure, I could save a few bucks by installing a lesser quality filter but with engine replacements costing in the thousands why quibble over a few dollars for a filter. High quality media and top-notch build quality makes this the only filter I will install in my car.

I buy these from Amazon on a regular basis.
We had a Toyota Sienna that had an oil gelation problem despite having the car regularly serviced by Toyota. After some persistence on our part Toyota rebuilt the engine on our car (which only had 38,000) miles on it. Toyota said they would only pay for this once and that we needed to switch to using synthetic oil.
In researching this online and some well respected mechanics we concluded that we would also use Mobile 1 filters. These filters are designed to filter out a higher percentage of particles than factory or other mainstream 3rd party filters.
We have been using these filters on both of our cars with Mobil 1 fully synthetic oil ever since. Our cars now have in excess of 130,000 miles with no issues.
loudcloud.us is where we list solutions that we have found to work well for us.

These filters are very good. However, the 102A claim to last longer…?!?

I have been using Mobil 1oil filters for a lot of years. They are made well, and I like the synthetic filter medium.
I use Mobil 1 oil and Mobil 1 oil filters for all my vehicles. I would never consider using a different filter.
