I love the quality of the filter elements and casing on these Mobil 1 filters. I have been using the M1-101 on my Pontiac Torrent and the M1-210 on my Ford F250 V10 for years with no issues. The metal casing is strong and can handle a filter wrench on it if needed. Years ago I used a Fram filter on a vehicle and I didn’t think I was going to be able to get it off. When I used the filter wrench on the Fram the casing just crumpled like a pop can. I ended up making a huge mess with the Fram and had to pound a long screw driver through it and use that to screw it off the engine. I have seen magazine articles where they have cut different filters apart with a band saw and the Mobil 1 came out on top with more and better quality filter material and a sturdy casing.

I always use Mobile 1 10,000 mile oil. I use it on the lawn equipment, wood chipper, and snowblower too. For my car it’s lasts about 8,000 before I change it. When I change it it is very dirty so maybe I shod do it sooner but I wait for 8000. On the pickup, milage is low so I leave the oil for 1 year all the time. Done this on 4 cars over the past 20 years wirh no problems.

Ok one day I went down the rabbit hole and researched filters. There were only two when I did that had a synthetic membrane. Problem with paper ones is they can have issues break off and plugging up oil venturis. I use 20k mile oil and this filter does a great job. I haven’t had any issues and have had my 2007 Chevy Silverado since 2014 and been using same filter. I use this truck for work and haven’t had any engine issues since I bought it. I highly recommend this filter.

If you use FSSS or Prime, these are delivered at a very fair price.
M1 filters are consistently ranked amongs the best filters out there. They use a premium synthetic filter media, which means it is very consistent unlike paper based cheaper filters which have some large holes and some small holes in the media. Whereby dirt can circle through the filter a few times before it gets trapped in an appropriate spot. With the M1 filter, the media is so consistent that particles get caught the first time every time.
Now, my only suggestion to Mobil: please add a ‘gripper’ compound to the can. PureONE, higher end Fram filters, and other brands, have been adding a rough rubberized coating to their cans to allow for better grip. These smooth, glossy, M1 cans get very slippery if some oil gets on them. If you use a filter wrench, it’s no problem, but if you prefer to hand-tighten, it might be enough of a deterrent to make you consider a different brand. It is however a very minor thing, and I’m not even sure it’s worth deducting a full star – it’s a 4.5/5 product.

Amazon says this doesn’t fit my car but a quick cross reference at another site said different. I ordered it and it does fit a 2003 Buick Regal LS. First thing I noticed was that the rubber seal on this filter is a lot more stout than the Fram I took off. The rest of the filter appeared to be of good quality as well. Both my cars have high millage and I’m still in the old school of oil change every three months no matter how many miles I put on my car. I know this is way excessive with today’s full synthetic motor oils but I have to tell you that both my cars run and sound great and even though they have a lot of miles I’m confident in driving them long distances.

Great quality. I just put in the new engine in my 2004 Impala back in January and this filter does what it needs to quite good. I have couple of them stocked away as price was decent but what I have read is I don’t have to change one for at least 6 months and max to 1 year if I am using it with Mobil Ext Performance Oil. So far all is fine and dandy.

It’s hard to get these filters at a decent price. I bought these on sale at $8 a piece. I checked them over, there’s no scratches, dents, nothing visibly wrong on the inside, and all gaskets are there. The filters do have the old labels on the packaging. I’m guessing amazon is trying to get rid of their old stocks to make way for the newly labeled filters that are in stores now. So I helped take a few filters of their hands. Other details about the filter: made in the USA, filter fiber is made of synthetic and natural fibers, no loose parts, black, in a box, it filters, doesn’t do your homework. The filters do last a while unless you had a bad PCV valve like I did. Don’t buy fram.
