I have a 2008 Ford Focus SE, it would not start, but then I ordered this part and had it installed by a mechanic, easily. It was installed last year July and gives zero problems today, March 2025, so its durable. I would recommend it.

I replaced two of these this weekend in under 1 hour each on a 2008 Ford Focus & 2009 Ford Escape. Watch the YT videos. You DO NOT need to remove the steering wheel! The ignition switch comes with this assembly & is the same price as the switch by itself. Resolved issue on BOTH vehicles. Highly impressed!

Excellent. Fit perfect in an 08 focus. Had to turn key really hard to start car. This solved it. Starts easy now. Took about an hour to install.

This ignition lock housing looks of good quality but my key cylinder did not fit. I tried and tried and tried figured I wasn’t holding my mouth right but to no avail had to take it back out of vehicle. With both housings together I finally see what was wrong, I could see that the lower portion of the barrel was not relived for the cyl to go in all the way. so I could wrap it back up and wait for another and who’s saying that would’t be the same or take a die grinder and relieve it myself which I did and it works fine. Bottom line if you feel fine modifying yourself it does work. So buyer beware.

despues de un mes de uso el pin que sujeta al cilindro que mantiene el switch se salio de posicion, por lo que tuve que pegarlo con soldadura plastica para que no se vuelva a salir de su posicion.
