update: it worked grear innanalog radio, but my signal was disruptive when in hd digital mode. i ended up only using the antenna signalnand i get more stable hd signal in bay area weather. hd radio users beware
My car oem stereo had 2 inputs for antennas; one for the stereo pole and one for the rear window defroster antenna. The new stereo i purchased only has one input. I tried to use just one of the input, but the signal was never clear. This item solved my problem and the signal is stronger than ever!

The box this thing came in was absolutely ridiculous. They shipped it in a box about 24″x24″x10″…the box was way too big.
The item itself is basic and easy install. I have a Toyota that uses a regular antenna and then a mini antenna that supplies power to the antenna on the back window. I bought an adapter to make the mini antenna wire fit into a regular and then paired them together into the back of my aftermarket radio. Works great.

This item use to be common place and could be bought at any auto parts store or Radio Shack, but now none of these places carry this product and the sale person in Radio Shack gave me a blank look and tried to sell me a phone. oh well. I find this product very useful for connecting a amplified car radio antenna and the built in car antenna together for superior reception on my radio. This is a easy project, you pull the radio out and on the back you will find your antenna wire, carefully pull it out of the radio and plug it into one of the 2 female plugs on your antenna splitter cable, mount the amplified antenna (this can also be bought from Amazon at a good price) and plug the cable into the other female cable of your antenna splitter cable. Now for the last 2 steps hook the power wire from the amplified antenna to the power cable of your radio (the side that turns off with the key) now plug the male end of the antenna splitter into the back of the radio where you pull of built in car antenna cable from. Carefully put the radio back in the dash and your done. This is a very good product and you will enjoy doing this project. This product was originally intended to connect 2 antennas on the back of a car in the 50’s and 60’s. Good luck and enjoy.

It’s a good device but was just not the right one for the unit. The 2011 camry has 2 antenna connections. One is of regular size the other is much smaller,. The smaller one was not the correct size. Since the cost was low I decided to just keep it. If it were the correct adapter I would give it A 5 star based on the service.

I put this under the fairing on my Harley Davidson Ultra touring bike so that I could have both the internal antenna I installed and the HD supplied external whip tour pack antenna. With the tour pack installed and both antennas supplying signal, I get the best reception possible. When I remove the tour pack, then I have only the internal antenna for AM?FM reception. This was a great solution to my problem of not having an antenna when the tour pack was off. All three tails were longer than I needed or desired, but the length was easily accommodated. Works as I hoped it would and as advertised.

Great product. I used it on a new radio lnstalliation. It happened to be a P71 Crown Victoria police vehicle with a factor rear quarter panel antenna but no radio. When I installed the radio the reception was poor so I purchased a ZHOL antenna and needed this Y adapter. The Y by itself got great reception. So now with the factory antenna and the ZHOL antenna and the Y 1 male 2 female connection it’s Awesome
