Besides being a cleaner wax for autos, I use this to clean my eyeglasses. It works especially well on polycarbonate lenses. The wax keeps smudges down to a minimum with its anti-static quality

I use this wax on all of my vehicles and my rv about once a year, usually in the fall or winter to protect against sand and salt. I’ve been using it for nearly twenty years now I’d estimate. It wears off on the vehicles in a few months just due to the elements so I’d recommend waxing more regularly if your vehicle gets used a lot or lives outside. I’ve tried other more expensive waxes from Meguirs, like the Gold, and can’t tell a difference except in cost. Often the vehicle is only 98% clean with some stubborn bugs or other road debris and applying the wax by hand helps with identification and removal of these final contaminates with the sponge or my finger nail since the surface is otherwise smooth and the solvents help break the contamination loose. Since I’m using the wax partly to clean, a sponge slowly becomes contaminated so the included sponge is perfect for the amount in a can. Cleaning off massive amounts of dried on bug guts from my rv is particularly easy if I keep up with my waxing since nothing adheres well to a waxed surface. I feel there is no substitute for the nice thick coat of wax left by a paste wax since I don’t wash my vehicles all that regularly and want the wax to last as long as possible. I also use it over decals to help prevent peeling, on my slider to keep it slippery and preserve the seals, and on seal mating surfaces to help prevent contaminant scratching of the paint as well as ice adhesion. If you wash your vehicle more regularly, perhaps a liquid wax which goes on a little quicker and buffs easier will be more to your liking, but this paste wax has enough solvent that it is almost as easy to apply.

I had a professional detailing company for ten years and used this wax religiously. Having said that it is NOT a wax that lasts (here in Florida) very long. However, it is absolutely the easiest wax of ALL to apply and to remove. Sun or shade, there’s no difference. It goes on like butter and wipes off easily. The shine is more than acceptable. As a cleaner wax it has no peer. None. It will remove small blemishes, stains, and dirt with little effort. It’s so easy to apply and remove that I wax my vehicles with it monthly. Which is necessary here in Florida because that’s about the life expectancy of this wax if your vehicle is left outside. Overall it’s the best auto wax value on the market.

Been eying up many of the best waxes, but after much thought this fits my daily driver that is dirty next day – why? Because everytime you wax you should really clay bar and polish to get rid of the built up grime – which on a volvo takes ages. Instead, this has cleaners and fillers to hide marks, and so im cleaning as I wax. Some people have been known to use this for years and their paintwork gets cleaner and cleaner – saves doing a full cut and/or polish and less clay time required. Will use this indefinitely, then maybe top up at winter with a sealant against the snow etc. as its not as durable as other waxes. For that, I recommend :
Carnauba based:
Bilt Hamber – Double Speed Car Wax – £16.64
PoorBoys Blue Paste Wax £16.99
Meguiars #26 Hi Tech Yellow Paste Wax £18.07
Meguiars #16 Mirror Glaze Paste Wax £18.90
Collinite 476 Super Doublecoat Auto Wax £20.50
Dodo Juice – Hard Candy £27.90
Collinite 915 Marque D’Elegance £30
Polymer (and definitley more longevity – Science!!)

I am a car/boat/tractor wax person…and have been dutifully waxing my vehicles and boats for over 45 years. Initially, I strictly used Simoniz paste wax. While the Simoniz provided excellent durability, it was a pistol to use being VERY difficult to remove and even more difficult to provide shine without streaks. I switched to Johnson J-wax and/or Turtle wax around 1975. Both products were delights to use, and provided long term protection almost equal to the old Simoniz. Recently, Turtle wax has been more difficult to purchase locally, so I thought I’d try the Meguiar’s Car Cleaner wax. I just came in from waxing my 4Runner, and thus far am pleased with the results. Easy on, very easy off, super shine and very little streaking or other touch up work. Of course, time will tell as to longevity of shine and protection. As I garage all of my vehicles I expect 6 months+ from any quality wax/polish. I’ll stop back here with an update as time passes. All in all, one of the easiest paste waxes I have ever used.
Update February, 2014: I’ve now used Meguiar’s Cleaner Wax on my 4Runner, pickup, car, two tractors, and one boat. In all cases, application, removal, buffing was outstanding. I’m adding this update to address longevity of shine and water repellence. In all cases, shine is outstanding, and likewise with water beading. Average timespan since initial application is approximately 7 months. I’ll definitely stick with Meguiar’s Cleaner Wax…and will keep my fingers crossed that the product is not “improved”.
