This backing plate really steps up the performance of the original Meguiar’s Dual Action Polisher. The previous red backing plate was to small to generate heat and power to freely spin the pad. This new backing plate moves the pad even with some downward pressure to really work in the polish. Very pleased and great pricing.

Got a G110v2 buffer that began to vibrate. I’ve read that buffers are counter balanced for the backing plate. My buffer is running well again.

Using the MeGuiars MT300 to bring my F250 paint back to life and it is working awesome!! This works great for a beginner like me at using this DA polisher and the different pads. I think the pads are reasonable priced because they seem to hold up really good.

Pads actually stick to this plate instead of flying off in random directions. The very original backing plate was far inferior to this one, as the hook and loop design seemed to lose its gripping ability rather fast. But this plate, and it’s 5″ brother are holding up quite well so far. This one has lasted for 30ish details so far with no signs of losing grip, where-as the original seemed to lose its grip around the 14th car and now can barely hold brand new pads.
I’m happy with my purchase, and when it does inevitably become to weak to grip with repeated use, I will purchase another, and another, and another. Maybe all at the same time if I’m rich 😛

Works like a charm used this on my harbor freight bauer da polisher. Other reviews said it melts to pads but if your pad it getting that hot your doing something wrong any how.

I put this backing plate on my harbor freight da buffer and now it does not wobble around even at the highest speeds. Love it. I throw the one that came with the harbor freight da polisher away

Does a great job of holding on to the pads, but, it got so hot that it started melting to the pad, almost didn’t get it apart. I had read about it possibly melting so I checked it as soon as I was done, glad I did, because it would not have come apart if I would have left it stuck together over night, it’s like the hook and loop got so hot it melted it together. I guess you have to let it cool down after a bit to keep it from getting so hot.

Was disappointed with my $200. polisher because the foam pads wouldn’t stick any longer till I found these backing plates. Easy cheap fix. 👍
