Update 12/18/21
After using this soap for 6 months I’ve noticed that if you have a coated car with a very slick surface like gtechnic or carpro sic this soap will alter the surface tension and it won’t feel slick to the touch no more, it also affects the water behavior as well, so just keep that in mind.
Had low expectations for this soap since I’ve tried many sio2 soaps before that leave residue on my dark blue paint, not this one, great maintenance soap, even after leaving the soap to dry on the paint it rinsed off effortlessly and left the car looking smooth and clean, good stuff!! This is my first McKees product I try after hearing good things about it. Foams really good in the foam canon.

By far my favorite SiO2 car wash! Excellent lubricity, suds, and gloss. This has taken the place of all other car soaps with additives for me. Not recommended if you’re looking for straight car soap without wax / Si02.

I received this and promptly set out to wash two cars. It wasn’t a disappointment, but leaves something to be desired.
I started with my old work/chore truck that hasn’t been washed this year. I used a foam gun and Turtle Wax Max Power to break up the dirt and grime. Then I rinsed it before hand washing with McKee’s. It wiped the dirt off with ease. You can’t tell that the truck was neglected for so long. However, it didn’t appear to leave any protection behind. The water may have sheeted a little faster, but their was no beading and a lot of flooding.
The second car was my commuter car that has a paint sealant and gets washed about three times a month. It also gets coated with Meguiar’s Ultimate Quick Wax during the drying stage.
I started by using 3ozs in the foam gun. It was mixed about 9 to 1. The foam easily cut through dirt cakes on from driving on dirt roads. The hand wash stage was fast and easy. It didn’t strip the underlying protection, and it definitely looked better than a touchless wash at the car wash. There was no left over haze and the car’s color popped.
This is a great maintenance wash. It will definitely get the car clean without stripping wax. However, it doesn’t seem to add any silica protection at all. If you want a maintenance wash that tops up your protection, this may not be the right choice. However, if you want a very slick wash that works well on a daily driver that has protection, this may be a great choice.

I recently bought a new BMW X3 30e and the dealer used a ceramic based coating on the car prior to delivery. A Black car in Hawaii can strike terror into any new owner but I feel fully confident that the McKee’s SIO2 wash and SIO2 Hydo Blue Pro Spray make a black car glisten. While BMW here will always wash my car if I were to drop her off while I do other things, this combination of the two bucket method, SIO2 car wash car wash and finishing spray beats a dealer or professional wash any day of the week. Every time I use this combo during the weekend, the following week always gets, “who detailed your car?” “where did you get your ceramic coat professionally done here on the island?” You want the best for your car…look no further than McKee’s SIO2 wash and Hydro Blue SIO2 spray, they’re the best!

I used this to was my oversized Expedition SUV using a spray wand with a brush applicator. The reason I got this is because they advertise that the soap can dry onto the paint and do no harm. With a brush wand applicator it’s easiest to soap up the whole vehicle before rinsing it off. Naturally the big problem is not letting the soap dry before finishing the washing part on a large vehicle. Putting their claim to the test, I washed my SUV on a bright sunny day, in the sun, and took my time which caused half the car to dry before I was able to rinse it off. The Soap WORKED AS ADVERTISED!!! It all rinsed off with just a spray of clean water, no scrubbing necessary.
The soap did a really good job cleaning off all the dirt and accumulated salt (first wash after winter storm) without the need to scrub hard . I’m very impressed and will buy more o this stuff in the future. That may be some time as I found, even when using an in-line soap dispenser, a little of this stuff goes a long way! Suds up Great!

This is my go-to soap for summer car washing in 100+ degree weather. This soap can dry on the surface which makes it easier and faster to wash in hot weather. I routinely wash an entire large vehicle and rinse at the end without any residue. The cleaning ability isn’t on par with stronger soaps, but it is great for maintenance washes and leaves a nice shine. Rinse thoroughly though or you may see some streaking from water dripping out of cracks, but those streaks can easily be removed with any QD or waterless wash.

Bubbles up well, stayed bubbly, didn’t do a great job in the windows, everywhere else looked great.

I have no complaints about this soap as I use it on my coated vehicles. I do 3-4 ounces per 1000ml and get a good amount of foam. I blast off existing grime, do a pre-wash with foam, rinse, and then foam up again to do a contact wash.
I top this soap with an SIO2-based quick detail spray and get really good results (color pop, hydrophobic, bugs and occasional bird poo don’t require effort to remove, etc.)
My ONLY gripe about this soap is its consistency. The viscosity I think is what I dislike the most as it comes out almost like a gel and takes a long time to pour and doesn’t pour consistently. To get around this I use a measuring cup with water and then pour in the soap to make it easier to then pour into my foam canon.
As much as I like this soap, for ease of use I’m going to switch back to a concentrate-style soap to make it easier and faster to measure and pour into my foam canon. I leave my measuring cup inverted over my foam cannon for 3-5 minutes so that most of the soap I measure is able to trickle into the foam canon.
