So far my experience is that it’s very easy to apply. Spray it on and rinse it off, how much easier can it get? It repels water as advertised and adds some shine to my black car. Time will tell as far as how long it will last.

McKee’s 37 Hydro Blue SiO2 Coating is an easy to use, spray on and rinse off nano coating that lasts 3 months or longer. Hydro Blue is 100% safe for ALL exterior surfaces (paint, plastics, glass, wheels, etc).
After thoroughly washing your car, while the paint is still wet, apply two or three sprays to one panel at a time and then immediately spray the panel down with a strong jet of water. Break large surfaces like the hood and roof up into two smaller sections. Be sure to spray the surrounding areas off as well to remove overspray and prevent streaking. After applying Hydro Blue to the entire exterior of the vehicle, just dry as normal. Done!
Hydro Blue allows you to protect every exterior surface of your vehicle in about 10 minutes without requiring you to wear out your arms with applicator pads or dragging out the polisher and extension cord. It really is the easiest way to leave your vehicle protected with a high gloss, hydrophobic protectant. While it is optimal to apply Hydro Blue to a prepared paint surface for maximum longevity, it is easy enough to apply as often as necessary to maintain the protection and appearance. You don’t have to be a pro to use it either. The only way to mess up the application is to spray it on and then not rinse it off right away. It’s perfect for anybody!
Hydro Blue is one of my all-time favorite products to use due to the simplicity and ease of application and the results I get so easily with it. Hydro Blue leaves the paint silky smooth and gives you terrific water beading and sheeting properties. While it costs more than spray waxes, the added benefits certainly justify the higher cost. The protection from a $10 spray wax will last a couple of weeks at best. The protection from Hydro Blue lasts months and is easier and faster to apply. It’s a no brainer..

Performs exactly as advertised. A few sprays per panel, rinse off with the hose and you’re done. Water beeding is on par with any sealant out there with 1/10th of the effort of application (and I’ve used everything from Klasse to Meguiars, Wizards, Chemical Guys, CarPro, Sonax and everything in between). I even spray it on my dive watches for extra smoothness and water repellency (keeps the watchface more legible when it comes in and out of the water).
So far we’re at the 6 week mark. Car stays glossy/shiny even with dust/dirt left behind after rain. Rims are easier to clean up too and water beading on the windshield and other windows is like Rain-X on steroids – it beads up and starts to run off at about 60kmh.
Durability might be the weak point on this – but they’re only claiming 3 months. This will be perfect for next summer!

I use this product on 90% of ny basic in and out wash and waxes.
Super easy to use – spray on rinse off, doesnt get any easier. On top of that it nakes the car easier to to dry!
Excellent hydrophobics – water sheets and beads with the quality youd expect out of an SIO2 product. Clients love it on their windows
Can be applied anywhere on the exterior – paint glass, trim, wheels, etc…Ive even applied to undercarriages prior to winter time.
Durable protection – so I rarely polish a vehicle and then apply this product – mostly just a thorough chemical decon and then use a clay mitt or towel as the prep work. The average SIO2 spray sealant of this nature will last about 8-12 weeks if prepped and then sealed this way, all things being equal. I consistently see 12 weeks out of this product with that minimal of prep work.
Great gloss – and its an instant gloss. Some of these sio2 products look better the next day but I feel like this literally has no cure time.
Mazda photo’d was a 2010 and had never been detailed before (it had been spray bay’d or through an automatic touchless wash). There was quite a bit of usual carwash marring and I feel like this product, the coat it creates, helps visually reduce those imperfections.
Chevy photod was washed at a local full service wash a few times a year but never properly detailed.
Nissan photod was a 2018 Altima. It helped make the white pop out which is not an easy task for a sealant.
Only negative I can see – and its not that big of a deal- when working in direct sunlight youll need to rinse off the panel to cool it down and dry each panel immediately after application.

This particular product is extremely hydrophobic and does an excellent job of keeping the surface cleaner over time due to this. I have never used this type of sealant before but now I am hooked, especially on my daily driver.
Another thing I like is that you seal everything on the vehicle including the glass and also appears as though it last quite a while as well. I also think there may be a cure time because it appeared to get shinier over the next few days after applied.
Extremely easy to apply, spray about 4 – 5 sprays on a panel and hose off to apply. Rinse until you see it completely rinsed away, easy to see and apply.
The only negative I can think of is the price of the application. It’s a keeper all right but I am going to see if I can get larger amounts at a lower price-point.

UPDATE: 5/11/2018
I am still hooked on Hydro Blue Sio2 – I used it all winter here in the NW region where all it does is mostly rain with occasional snow and ice, so we do get some chemicals on the road however nothing like the hard winters I endured back in the NE region United States.
I have found Hydro Blue does indeed have a long life after applied and experience beading and still existent after 2 – 3 months and longer after the simple application. And this includes washing the vehicle numerous times with Purple Power Boat and Car Wash to get off the paint contamination off the vehicle in those winter months. It does indeed hold up!
Another example of its longevity is on the windshield. I can run months with the wipers off above 40 mph and still hangs in there even when running the wipers at slower speeds, but yet still beads water without wipers above 40 or so forever it seems. Even Purple Power wash will not strip it!
I have seen numerous product feedback posts of guys over applying Hydro Blue and express some issues here. I have found you can apply as much as you want and the results are the same as long as you rinse it off really well… However you do not need to over apply Hydro Blue to get the same affect. Again I have found that 4 – 5 sprays per panel works just as well. In any case just make sure you rinse really well no matter the amount you apply and will not experience any negative even on a Black vehicle such as my show car.
Excellent product and is still one of my leading and most popular and favorite auto detailing tools to date.
Nothing could be easier to apply and give such results for so little effort. I personally now purchase the gallon size especially when it goes on sale. Love the stuff, for those unaware or haven’t tried Hydro Blue Welcome to the Future!!
